We are finally going to get the show on the road and begin season 22 of the LGHL. This time of the season is a great time to inform all of our players; new and old; of what changes have occurred from last season to this season.

Due to using changing to a new website, as well as finally making the jump to the Xbox One accompanied with us using what NHL 16 has given us, we do have some major changes to review. So without further ado, here are some of the changes for this up and coming season!

    New OCR

With us having the ID@Xbox we have been able to tap in deeper to your streams, your pictures and you clips for each game you play in. That has allowed us to take the OCR to the next level. Rather than relying on your mobile devices for screen shots we can simply us our Xbox to take screen shots which we can upload into the new OCR. It should make our lives a lot easier but it will allow for a 100% match each time.

The only real kicker we have right now is players are required to input their skater name and ensure it is updated all season long to ensure the auto status will continue to work. If not this can cause some extra work for our managers.

If you are a manager take a look at your roster and message your guys to put their names in. This is only going to make your life easier!

    Live Streams

Some of you may have seen during game nights a red video camera over each League's icon. The red camera is to symbolize that teams are live streaming their games at that time.

Something Tris was able to tap into as well thanks to our ID@Xbox partnership was the ability to automatic link your live stream to the game you are scheduled in. It is an amazing feature for sure! The idea and concepts behind LGv5 is for us to capture more content than ever before. We want to ensure we have as much live game footage as possible each and every night.

Once the mobile app is redeveloped we will also see that support the ability to watch several games live on your phone! This is very similar to what the NHL Game Center app has to offer as well.

With more game footage and streams we are hoping to encourage players to upload more game clips as well. Tris has it set up that if you score a nice goal and have your Xbox record that goal, the game clip will be linked and saved to the LG game you just played as well. This should give our media department more tools in the tool box to ensure we can have some high quality media productions.

    No More Game Lobbies?
    http://leaguegaming.com/forums/inde...ns-how-to-without-traditional-lobbies.222822/

For several seasons we all have been use to using traditional lobbies for League games. That is not the case anymore. EA has a private invite session built into the EASHL which will allow us to invite teams to participate in our League games.

This new system is very different than before and even the game lobby session itself has no game timer. Therefore this has caused a ton of changes to our game night procedures outlined in Article Two.

Reference Article Two : Scheduling and Game
    Night Procedures

    http://leaguegaming.com/forums/inde...-scheduling-and-game-night-procedures.223740/

Here are some of the important facts to know :
That is the description of each night's timelines and breakdowns. That is obviously very different than what we are use.

Forfeits are a hot topic each and every season. Therefore some more detail has gone into what to expect this season for forfeits.

Keep all that in kind in regards to forfeits. We all signed up here to play hockey, and championships shouldn't be won in the board rooms, hence why we are trying our best to minimize forfeits in the NHL and AHL.

    Playing Time + Availability

Availability is a hot topic each season as well. Last season we implemented the "minimum" rule. As a reminder, you must give a minimum of four games availability in order to maintain "your right to be scheduled". Management is a hard enough position to be in when you aren't trying to juggle poor availability. It also seems like when teams start to take a nose dive, the first thing that goes is the players availability. Giving at least a four game availability should give the team manager enough ability to schedule all 17 players for games during the week.

The kicker is if you don't give at least four games or not give ANY availability at all, you are basically forfeiting your right to play. So if your team manager schedules you for games based on what is open, and you do not show up. You can be issued strikes. It is your responsibility as a player to ensure your availability is given each week on the site or via Xbox Live messages.

Best practice is to do so with text messages or in your locker room so you have some forum of proof showing you in fact did give your avail.

Article Two outlines this clearly :

Random Assignment? Training Camp? Amateur Status?

The random assignment system for late sign ups has changed. Traditional in the past we gave the random assignment identification to anyone who signs up late for the season and ALL players left over from the bidding and draft whom were not selected.

The issue with simply blanking everyone is randomly assigned players end up having all up restrictions applied to them. Therefore if a player is pasted up by all three Leagues via bidding and the draft, that player doesn't lose their NHL eligible like some random assignments do.

Quick reference in regards to call up restrictions :

What really dictates the limitations placed on the random assignments is the player status they have. This season we introduced the "Amateur" status. Any player whom played more than one game in any league but less than 27 in the NHL was giving this status. Moving forward, prospects players whom complete a full season in the CHL and play a minimum of 15 games will graduate to this status as well. This transitional status between prospect and veteran has no eligibility restrictions but allows a managers to move this player to their affiliate without having to pass their asset through waivers. Think of this status as LG's "two way contract"

Here is what our rules state about these new status':

That is the basic changes we have made for Season 22 that relate to the NHL and AHL. Nothing crazy to remember but all important things none the less. I am looking forward to this season, and I wish you the best of luck!
