Who's a smoker here Who here is a smoker? Is it just me or is smoking becoming a cultural Taboo? With Tougher laws and higher taxes, and the fact that after you smoke you smell like SH.IT, it feels like we are seeing a real drop on people who activaly smoke So Who here is still one? I define a smoker as someone who smokes 3 or more cigs a week
I've been nicotine free for about 5 years now and I smoked for about 7 years before that. Pretty much during my "screw consequence" phase.
if you were to add ex smoker I would be there, 14 weeks and counting... With Ontario becoming a smoke free Province and the price per pack , there really is no sense anymore. I have many personal reasons as well, 2 Children that I want to watch grow up is one reason. I also have 2 parents that smoked a long time, my Father quit 18 years ago and has more energy than I do , my Mother gets winded climbing a flight a stairs ( recently forced to quit )
Never smoked, never will. I find the smell very disgusting. A woman smoker is a nasty bitch to me. Thats how much I hate to be near a smoker. Nothing ticks me off more than my clothes smelling like a cigarrete.
I agree 100% My gf still lives at home and her mother smokes and sometimes her cloths will have just the smallest trace of smoke which completely disgusts me
I dont smoke - not because of the diseases it can cause - but because of the money. I'll be damned if I donate at least $7 a day to kill myself. A gun is so much faster, and cheaper.
Yes, I've been a smoker for around 2 and a half years now. Here's a question for the likes of Tris and Striker, who can't stand the scent: When you find out that somebody is a smoker, does it change your opinion on this pweson in terms of lowering your opinion?
Not anymore. I smoked for almost 10 years before I quit about a year and half ago... I promised my father-in-law that I would quit when my wife and I got engaged, took me about a year after we got married to do it. To be honest though, I think about having a smoke pretty much every day... but when I do have one occasionally I don't really like it too much. Smoking did make me a better programmer though , whenever I found a bug that I couldn't figure out I would go for a smoke to clear my head and think about it without looking at the code and I found that it really helped.
like I said above, my Dad quit 18 years ago, he still thinks about sparking up... this is a very hot button topic for me, I will say this and be done... Smoking is a serious addiction, it cannot be beaten with a simple "why don't you use a Patch or pill or hypnosys or cold turkey" this is a life long battle. I wish I never started but I cannot control past, only present and future. I am tired of people who have never smoked a day in their life yapping about the smell or the way it does this or that, I chose to smoke and you chose not too. It does not make you any better or worse, so please step off the soap box. I am a non smoker ( now ) and I know what direction I am headed in. The question that was put forth is are you a smoker yes or nope.. so please answer yes or nope
Smokers are jokers. But seriously, less people are smoking because, you know, it kills you. Not to mention it can cause many more problems besides death as well as hurt the people around you via second hand smoke. Everytime I see someone smoking in a car with their children sitting next to them, I feel like pulling them out and slapping them left and right. The smell and taxes just seal the deal.
Recently, mostly due to stress at work, I've started smoking at work. About 3 cigarettes a day. So yeah, its not much, just eases me through the day a bit.
nope can't stand smoking i'm not gonna be a moron and donate money to lower my life span. My bro is a smoker and i can't stand the dam smell i give him crap all the time to either go outside and smoke or don't smoke at all.
