Why Quit? - An Exposed! editorial special. View attachment 22844 Hey guys and gals of LG. Notorious here. With my lighter media schedule this week I figured I would give you all a little something extra to read while your bearing down on your latest colon collective. It’s “been a minute” as you kids say so excuse me if I’m a bit rusty on the old keyboard. As we near the end of the regular season here in season 30 I am seeing the same thing I see every season I play here in LG. Now keep in mind my perspective on the situation is probably pretty unique as one of the guys that has been around for several seasons and never earned a birth to the Calder playoffs. Why is that? Am I a brutal player? Do I attract the wrong kind of players? Maybe I’m too nice for my own good? Probably all of those things.... But that’s not what I’m here to discuss. The problem I keep seeing year after year is the issue of players quitting. There are several reasons consisting of but not limited to: Fatigue (Tired of the game / It’s summer) Struggling (Team record or individual stats) Strife (Fighting with teammates) Commitments (New job / spouse / game) Or possibly you could just be a bitch? Sometimes quitting is unavoidable. Life is wild man, things happen believe me I know. Sudden family emergencies like a death or sickness, Commitments like a new job are also excusable. What I can’t tolerate and really makes me want to aerate a human chest cavity with a plastic spoon is guys getting butt hurt! Players that just find any small innocuous excuse to just throw their hands up in the air and say “Fuck it! I quit!”. Anyone that figures they are bigger than the team and that their personal feelings are considerably more important than the other 16 players on the teams roster irk me. Running away to try and protect their overall record from the stain of a bad season. This is a smidge more reasonable with a manager as they eat shit sandwiches all season long from guys acting like prima donna whiners. Dealing with the cancers of LG that no show games, make big demands, constantly question their authority and of course other managers can really get you down. But still to quit would be met with disdain from others. So I guess what I am saying is don’t quit. Don’t run from the problem that this season has presented you or you created. Avoid being the next one that dodges their obligations and commitments. Respect your teammates and frankly the league that gives you this awesome place to play and finish your season as strong as possible. Don’t start “having fun” and run enforcer to skew the stats that determine seeding and year end awards. Try your best to be an upstanding human and honor the terms and conditions you never read while signing up for LG all those seasons ago. Lead by example. In short don’t be a fuckin skin rag. Rant over. Be good to one another. Support the news team, like, comment & share your thoughts on their work
