Disclaimer: I only made this because @ODucks182 is lazy af. I have not watched every team play, so this ranking is solely based off my personal opinion and stats that I looked at. 10. Czech Republic Sitting at the bottom of the standings with only 5 points through first week, Czech Republic has an embarrassing -24 goal differential, while giving up the most goals in the tournament so far. Actiondave's draft strategy clearly hasn't worked out so far as the goalie he selected third overall, bradlayman, is helpless in net, facing 20 shots a game while giving up almost 5 goals. He also sent his team's leading scorer Pawdiddy down to the training camp, which is an interesting move, and we will see how it all works out for him. Nevertheless, Czech will need a big week two to have a chance to make the playoffs. Top Players: Pawdiddy (LW): 1-2-0, 5 Goals, 3 Assists, 8 Points, -6 Kinneyyy (C): 1-1-0, 2 Goals, 4 Assists, 6 Points, -1 XXThaOneXx (LD): 1-1-1, 6 Assists, 6 Points, -3, -7 TA/GA D-Force12 (LD): 2-1-0, 1 Assist, 1 Point, -1, -13 TA/GA Antg310 (RW): 1-1-0, 2 Goals, 4 Assists, 6 Points, -2 9. Kuwait Also with 5 points so far through week 1, Kuwait has the tournament worst -24:53 time on attack difference and lowest average TOA at 4:53, which means they may be getting dominated in their games and struggle to gain control of the puck. However, I believe they have some solid players on the team led by their owner, Hainesy, who had 12 points in week 1, and are capable of turning it around week two. They will need to win a lot of games next week in order to make it to the playoffs, good luck. Switzerland Switzerland is 4-5 so far in the tournament, they have not been the best team in terms of puck possession, but they have managed to get 4 wins in the first week, with two of them coming against one of the top teams, Canada. They definitely have room for improvement, especially on the defensive side where they have given up second most goals among all teams. Being a first time management, I believe Im_Kreaky selected a solid team. The Swiss will be fighting with a couple other teams to get in the playoffs, and after that anything can happen, as they have already beaten Canada twice so far. Italy With a 4-4-1 record, Italy is currently 7th overall in the tournament after week 1. Led by an experienced owner, Youngtko13, Italy seemed to have a good team on paper. However, the result hasn't been ideal so far. Italy has clearly struggled on power play with the second worst PP% in the tournament. These guys will most likely be in the playoffs, and I think they have the goaltending to perhaps steal a series. Top Players: Superguy1999 (C) 2-1-0, 4 Goals, 5 Assists, 9 Points, +1 Chiuxjai (C) 2-0-1, 2 Goals, 4 Assists, 6 Points, +0 Morn (RD) 2-1-0, 1 Goal, 1 Assist, 2 Points, +0, -5 TA/GA Eaglehawk2014 (G) 3-1, 82.5% Save%, 2.46 GAA, 1 SO lGalchenyuk27l (LW) 2-0-1, 1 Goal, 5 Assists, 6 Points, +0 6. Germany The Germans are doing well so far in the tournament with a 4-3-2 record. They have a strong TOA difference, but they still haven't been able to convert that to a goal differential better than -3. They will have some work to do if they want to win a gold medal, especially when it comes to putting the puck in the net. Top Players: Ryan Silva (RW): 2-0-1, 5 Goals, 5 Assists, 10 Points, +3 Jake From State Farm (C): 1-1-1, 3 Goals, 3 Assists, 6 Points, +1 HELLOVATOR (RD): 1-1-1, 4 Assists, 4 Points, +0, -1 TA/GA WarChyld289 (G): 2-3, 81.7% Save%, 2.08 GAA JustCause17 (LD): 1-1-1, 3 Assists, 3 Points, +1, -2 TA/GA 5. Russia Russia currently is 5-4-0 with 10 points. They are only placed ahead of the Germans due to the goal differential and the 5 wins compared to 4. I think they have some good forwards and leading the tournament in shot differentials with +50 but if they want to win the gold medal, they will have to strengthen their backend. Top Players: Chel__Lengend (C): 2-1-0, 4 Goals, 6 Assists, 10 Points, +3 Jonshadow12 (LD): 3-0-0, 1 Goal, 1 Assist, 2 Points, +6, +3 TA/GA Tengaray (LW): 2-1-0, 1 Goal, 9 Assists, 10 Points, +5 K1773rm0nk3y (RW): 2-1-0, 3 Goals, 4 Assists, 7 Points, +5 Unkle_steel (RW): 2-1-0, 4 Goals, 5 Assists, 9 Points, +4 4. Canada Canada currently has a 5-3-1 record, sitting 4th place in the league. Team Canada was dominant early on in the week, winning the first 4 games, but finishing off the week with a 1-3-1 record in their last 5 games. I believe Canada is a top line heavy team, carried by the Hamilton Bulldog duo, Boughss and ATL_NizzyyTouch, along with Bettercallsaul18 at center. They also have two good goaltenders in Fooldawg83 and OmegaWolf1020. I think Canada will have a good chance at winning a medal, but they will have to improve their other lines if they want to win the gold. Top Players: Boughss (LW): 3-0-0, 9 Goals, 7 Assists, 16 Points, +6 ATL_NizzyyTouch (RW): 3-0-0, 6 Goals, 8 Assists, 14 Points, +6 Thevandal1987 (LD): 2-0-1, 3 Assists, 3 Points, +4, -9 TA/GA Bettercallsaul18 (C): 3-0-0, 2 Goals, 10 Assists, 12 Points, +6 Fooldawg83 (G): 4-2, 87.0% Save%, 2.04 GAA 3. Sweden Seen as one of the favorites before the tournament started, Sweden has lived up to its expecation with 5-1-3 record. Sweden has been dominant in TOA in the tournament. With good players on both ends, I believe the team led by iMaBEASTkidd19 will make a run for the gold medal. Top Players: mcanadiens24 (LD): 3-0-0, 1 Goal, 4 Assists, 5 Points, +6, -7 TA/GA Triplemdemo (RD): 3-0-0, 3 Assists, 3 Points, +6, 0 TA/GA CarlUnts (LW): 2-0-1, 4 Goals, 6 Assists, 10 Points, +4 Jeown (RW): 2-0-1, 4 Goals, 5 Assists, 9 Points, +4 RG x 34 (G): 2-0, 88.5% Save%, 1.51 GAA, 1 SO 2. USA Team USA is currently second in the tournament with 13 points. They have a very good defensive core led by GreenTurkey and NantoriousBIG, along with solid forwards, and a great goaltender to backstop the team. With the most goals scored out of all the teams, team USA will have a very good chance at the gold medal, especially with arguably the best goalie in the tournament, SGDragonSlayer. They are also the only team to beat the first place Kazakhstan so far. Top Players: SGDragonSlayer (G): 3-1, 88.9% Save%, 1.94 GAA ItzAlive__ (LW): 3-0-0, 5 Goals, 5 Assists, 10 Points, +9 asstchief209 (RW): 2-1-0, 6 Goals, 5 Assists, 11 Points, +8 NantoriousBIG (RD): 3-0-0, 1 Assist, 1 Point, +7, -5 TA/GA GreenTurkey (LD): 2-1-0, 1 Goal, 2 Assists, 3 Points, +7, +2 TA/GA 1. Kazakhstan Might be a little biased here, and the first two teams may be interchangeable, but Kazakhstan has been dominant thus far in the tournament with an 8-1-0 record. The team also has a staggering 39:56 TOA difference through just 9 games, Kazakhstan has had control in all its games. With skill and depth at all positions, Kazakhstan has allowed the fewest goals while scoring the second most. One of the favorites to win the gold medal, Kazakhstan will hopefully be able to keep it going in week two.
