AHL Playoff format

"The division semifinals will be best-of-five series. All other series are in a best-of-seven format."

So does that mean round 1 is a best of 5 series? What does that do to the 1 for 3 and 2 for 6 player rule for playoffs? Or are we making all playoff series best of 7? Some clarification would be nice.

So the last day of the season you guys make the changes to the standings and just now post rules for us... maybe we should have known this before the last day of the season....

 

so in a way yallcould have just left it the old format till next season

 

they should instead of changing things on the last day

 

I'm confused on how the 3rd team in the north is eliminated but the 5th isn't

 

i might suggest an open vote to all AHL league members... i can understand trying to mimic the real AHL format as closely as possible but unfair to make this change last day and I think to be honest most people hate this format structure all together, as much as the fact that it was only just changed.

 

should be enforced next season, not at the end of this current one. I know the league is trying to emulate real life, but on the last day of season 1 regular season? not even the real AHL would be that cold.

 

I call for a boycott. We will not take this rape sitting down.

End of the day every team wants to be in the playoffs to have some more fun. I totally agree with making things as realistic as real life and all but the decision really only affects us and magically helps a team that is worse than us no offense. Tbh I'd rather see the best 16 teams go at it. End of the day everyone is gunna be salty when a new rule is posted on the last day. Last time I checked the real ahl doesn't changed playoff format a day before the playoffs begin but hey. My team is going to go out and try and grab the 4 pts. And if we do and the gulls lose well, you'll see this post filled with gulls players. Gl to everyone and have a good playoffs hope to see you there

 

Very disappointed in lg right now. You wait till the last day of the season to change the playoff format. Very unprofessional imo. I've never seen any league do that.

 

I just want everyone here to remember the team that wins the playoffs gets the exact same thing as the team that doesn't even make the playoffs, a big sack of nothing!
