i just went to ign and read this little section at the top and it's sad really... damn you ps2. With more than 350 official team and league licenses from around the world, more than 12,000 officially licensed players, an enhanced Career Mode, and EA SPORTS Online play (PlayStation 2 console only), FIFA Soccer 2005 is billed as the only complete, authentic, and intelligent soccer experience. doesn't that just plain old suck unless someone has heard different and it is online on the box? i read it here. http://xbox.ign.com/objects/680/680871.html
Normally, I don't trust anything I read on these webrag's anymore. However, it looks like IGN got their info straight from EA: http://www.info.ea.com/products/title.php?id=372 Gamestop is still showing it as a XBL game, but they could be going off of old info from E3: http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product_id=210613
I hope it comes to XBL. This is why I still have my PS2. Whatever game isnt on the BOX, I know I can get it for the PS2.
Guys remember the EA Press Conference at E3? They said that all of the EA Sports games this year will be XBOX LIVE ENABLED. So don't worry BurntCanuck, it is guaranteed online. It was probably an article that was written the day they announced it, or the day after.
Guys, look at EA's own website... that's where the info came from about PS2 only support for online. xtreme - you really think the dork at EB is going to know anything about an unreleased game (not to mention a fairly unpopular one for most).
Jon, but what about E3 where they announced all of their EA SPORTS games would be on Live. There is even an article about it over at IGN saying all the games that will be on Live. EA Sports even said, all 15 of our games being released this fall will be XBOX LIVE COMPATIBLE!
same here, thats why im not giving it up, until of course XBOX 2 comes around, i have to exchange my ps2 to "soften" the price of XBOX 2 when it goes to the market. im sure that is about $400. (my wife is going to buy it for me as my xmas present )
They can say what they want at E3, alot can change before a release date. ESPN NFL 2k4 was a HD game all the way up until the end (all of the beta reviews said it had 720p support). I'm just saying that if EA themselves are saying that it's PS2 only on their website, that might be more recent info than a press conference. Promise the World, under deliver. Wouldn't be the first time for EA.
Well if that is true then the same with NBA Live 2005 will be only online for PS2 according to the EA Website also http://www.info.ea.com/products/title.php?id=374 what i think is they made errors cause i doubt there gonna advertise it at e3 with superstar camillo anthony at the show so i really think its gonna be online why would they back out of it now once they said there gonna have it live it will make them look so dumb and just make ppl hate EA more. And if it weren't gonna be online anymore i don't think they would of advertise it here on there main page http://www.easports.com/e3/2004/xboxlive.jsp
It isn't listed in that press article, but did you watch the E3 Press Conference? They clearly stated in there, that all of this seasons sprorts line would contain XBOX LIVE PLAY. And honestly, do you think they would be dumb enough to pull out and say no Live? If they were to do that for FIFA, they would be in for it. TO END THIS ARGUMENT GO HERE: CLICK HERE] ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PAGE, THERE IS A BIG XBOX LIVE ICON!
Interesting find. Seems they need to get their media relations and webmasters on the same page so that everything is the same. Guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm hoping it's on live, that will be fun.
Actually its listed on that page right at top of the article it says: "Agreement With Microsoft brings Madden NFL, NBA LIVE, FIFA Soccer, NCAA Football and other blockbusters to Xbox Live? this year"
A little more proof about it all, I found on the FIFA Website, when you click on Message board option, it takes you to a few different categories, with one of them being Online Play: XBOX. Here is proof: CLICK HERE
