Hey everyone! This Ash_bae94 bringing you the Season 9 awards! Lets start out with a big congratulations to Tottenham for winning the league for the second time in a row, with time adding the cup to their silverware cabinet. Sign up wise this was our biggest season yet and with a huge influx of new players LGFA PSN is surely on the rise and is ready to expand even more. Thank you to all who contributed on a very successful season! Spoiler: Ballon D’or This may have been the easiest choice of all awards. Youssefzaki had what could go down as the all around best LGFA season ever. Boasting a 9-6-2 record, 7.7 AMR, contributed from the midfield with 6 goals and 3 assists and a huge 84% passing percentage including 8 key passes. He was also no joke on the defensive side of things accumulating 18 tackles and 31 interceptions. In the end, no one was more important to their team than Youssef was. Another season of Youssef being the best player in LGFA PSN, congratulations. Spoiler: Sir Alex Ferguson (Manager of the Year) Season after Season Alonzi continutes to make big contributions to the league as an owner. He managed to take a team projected to finish dead last and turned them into title contenders. If not for a rough last two weeks they would’ve challenged the spurs for the league. Will he be able to take another step forward next season and dethrone the Spurs? Spoiler: Golden Glove (Best Goalkeeper) Mikey had an INSANE year with unreal stats, almost single handedly preventing West Ham a last place finish. In 19 games he faced 118 shots, capably saving 84 of them for one the highest save percentages of 72%. If not for having arguably the worst defense in league in front of him and facing too many rebounds/easy tap ins, who knows how far he could take a team. Spoiler: Alonzi Award (Best Defender) Without a doubt this was the hardest award decision and had the media team split on who should win it. After actual days of discussion, we gave the nod to Benfica fan. With a record of 11-5-3, and AMR of 7.8, Benfica also had a league leading 6 clean sheets. Benfica provided his team with 31 interceptions, 3 blocks, 18 tackles. As a fullback you are also asked for help going forward and he came through with 1 goal, 2 assists, and a HUGE 89% passing percentage. Spoiler: Rookie Of The Year Its hard to not get excited when talking about Berto. He has great stats in every category as he started the season on defense, until he was asked to plug a gap at striker due to breed getting banned. Despite a losing record Berto scored 6 goals, 11 assists, just under 80% passing percentage, 31 interceptions, and 22 tackles. Huge numbers and an exciting future to come in the LGFA. Spoiler: Most Improved Player Of The Year Cupid had such an amazing year this season it warranted the creation of a new award. After only being able to get himself on the team sheet 8 times in the previous year, Cupid hit the ground running with Arsenal and proved into the top 5 striker conversation. He was able help his team with 15 goals, 5 assists, 15 key passes and a 7.9 AMR. Keep it up! Spoiler: Golden Boot (Top Goalscorer) Fabio proved he wasn’t a one season wonder and banged in a whopping 19 goals this season to claim the Golden Boot, Great job! Spoiler: James Coyle Award (Top Assister) Respeconyze’s reputation of being the best CAM in the league is backed up once again, lending his team the help of 12 assists. I want to start out by saying thank you to all of the players that have made the league what it is today. Congratulations to the Spurs on winning the league title (for the second season in a row) and for winning the FA Cup. Season 8 was a very successful season for LGFA PSN. This was our first season with 8 teams since season 1. We are officially closing the chapter of season 8. As we are getting ready to start season 9, we are looking to grow LGFA PSN! I hope that everyone who reads this is signed up or is going to signup for season 9. We would like to make this our best and biggest season yet! Mayor had one of the best defensive stat lines LG has ever seen and it deserves a mention. He was well worth the money and the Beck winner in all of Chelsea’s eyes. Good shit Benefica though!
