Online leagues! Yes, EA Sports has announced that they will have online leagues for Madden 2005, for both XBOX and PS2 Consoles. It will also be free of charge, but you must insert a credit card # as it helps people from getting new gamertags so that they have better DNF % and all. For more on the online leagues: CLICK HERE Also, XBOX IGN posted a 6 page review on Madden 2005, and it got .1 higher than ESPN NFL 2K5 got, which is a good sign. I am on the third page, but skipped to page 6 to see the Closing Comments. Here is two paragraphs that I found very interesting: To read the full review on Madden NFL 2005, please: CLICK HERE
"You're going to be able to do all of your trading and drafting, all of your typical fantasy football stuff on your TV and then go and actually play the games using the Madden engine and have that affect your league. So if Michael Vick gets injured when you're playing a game, that will affect your roster moving forward. YES!!!!!!!!
That is exactly why I quoted that paragraph from IGN. It says that ESPN is good in its own ways, but Madden is good in the area that you should look at in a sports game: THE GAMEPLAY. Yeah, it is also the only reason that I kept playing ESPN NFL despite my dislike for it. Ohh yeah, that and the fact I am 1-0 career against MP in Professional football.
STLJohnson, just so you know, that stuff is IN THE FUTURE for Madden and not in the now You left out the sentence before and after your quote which makes it a completely different read: Also: To me, the following sounds like there will be pay options down the road : This is still good news though since I thought this would be a huge lacking of Madden's. I'm glad to hear they have something planned, even if it's not as good as ESPN's is currently.
Not a flame but if the gameplay is like ncaa ROFLMAO someones taking kick backs Just because 2 newbies can log in and with 5 minute quarters come up with a scor ein line with a real game doesnt make the gameplay good. It makes the computer players good. Im getting it anyway I guess LOL
Well, I have to say, I am really surprised at the comments from both The Original MP, and Accountblocked. I honestly didn't think that either one of you guys would be picking up Madden '05, but I guess you learn something new everyday.
Well, good for EA with the Madden 2005 online options, but I still will not buy it. I know the gameplay will be practically the same as NCAA so I wont waste my $$.
That's actually not what I meant. I like the gameplay in both ncaa and espn. If I want to have some offensive fun I pop in ESPN. If I want to have a defensive showdown with that great college atmosphere i pop in NCAA. In no way was I saying that NCAA/Madden have better gameplay than ESPN. I like them both.
I just want to try it out...if it sucks I'll trade it in. I'm not a huge Madden fan, but if we only have one league and it's Madden guess I need the game to play.

LOL Madden gave the Colts and their defense some mad props. Also overrated their offense probably. Edgerrin 92 overall, Marvin 98 overall, Manning 97 overall, Wayne 87 overall.... I'm definitely liking this...
Funny thing is I believe they gave ESPN higher or the same scores in all categories...except final score. LOL hows that work? If you average them Espn is equal to 9.4, Madden 8.6.
