http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/index.html If you thought the google map was cool, wait until you download this program. Warning, it's a very big download and a resource hog (make sure you have a good 3D card). Just awesome what you can do with it though. It will take the images we've been using, and combine it with topographical maps, so that you can not only pan/zoom in 2 dimensions, but also tilt and rotate any way that you want so that you can see elevation changes. Lots of other cool stuff to waste time in front of the monitor on.
Here's a site that looked up locations and have them categorized. The first link is categorized by state while the second link is sorted by category. I've seen several of these popping up so it appears many people are liking this satellite thing. What I find funny, is it's been out there using the terraserver.microsoft site, but Google made this popular. I remember the terraserver being one of the first "cool" things I did when I got the Internet sooooo many years ago.
