We turned it off for added simulation style racing. Took some getting use to but most have been able to cope with the change.
damn remember back during beta in motogp you'd always be like "hey guys wait up". Then after you learned to race you could keep up with us. Well there was no TC back in that game and it forced you to learn which i think you'll agree was for the best. Overall it's a more realistic racing style. I know a lot of people at the start had a hard time racing without the turn lines but im sure most people will say now they are glad they are gone
(Psst, most production cars rated S or U in Forza have traction control in real life...) No problem for me, I tend to avoid RWD cars anyway, and I'm handy enough with a (virtual) wrench and differential to get around that problem.
I agree with Desirsar, in real life these expensive production cars have a TCS in place for better handling - they also use them during races, etc. Thus, it is not more realistic to say that they race with this off (I just saw this on the Speed Channel).
Well we're about to find out in the next weeks, if we're going to have a big problem or not..lol.. FWD this week.. AWD or RWD the rest of the season.. So let's see what happens..
I have nothing against people who use TCS (although I wouldn't argue against keeping it forced off either), but personally, I just hate it when the game assists me in any way. I kinda look at it like a football game that tells you which receiver to throw to or a shooting game that 'assists' your aiming (okay, maybe not the best analogies but it's all I have at the moment). Of course, this probably also explains why I pirouette off the course multiple times per lap.
TCS is a highly devated AID, notice I said AID. since it takes away from the driver finesse/skill. Some series completely ban it. F1 will not allow it for 08, and many others is a choice. However for arguments sake, yes S, U, even C and D cars do have TCS, but in real life conditions specially RWD cars.. TCS should be turned off when at the track. (and if you have the balls, knowhow). It allows much more car control. In real life TCS also has the ability to be adjusted, while in Forza is either ON or OFF. Sadly there are no TCS levels to choose from and the default ON setting kicks in way to early which will slow you down. Same for ABS, it cuts in too early and it actually takes you longer to stop than if you mastered treshold braking. We could ask a simple question... Do you like to ride your bike with training wheels on, or off? what do I know, Im a hardcore enthusiast and while I do like TCS on the M3 while in the street, rain, etc.. I sure as hell wont use it at the track in real life. But, thats just me.
I agree about TCS engaging too early. I only ever use it on RWD cars with so much power than they can't be fixed with a differential, even though a properly tuned one in real life would be more than enough to control the car. TCS could leave the game entirely if they'd give me a computerized differential like you'd find on most of the cars in question.
I never use the TCS. I do have a preference of AWD cars so there is really no need for it, but when you get into the higher powered cars you will surely wish you learn to drive without it. I really feel it's more fun, and more rewarding. I do however use ABS, as I don't like how "touchy" the cars are without it. There are too many times in the races where you have to slam on the break. I use it as an "avoid an accident aid"
