Just to play Devil's advocate, it doesn't mention 4 XBox doubles play online. It might mean that you and your buddy (on the same XBox) can play your friend and his buddy (on the same XBox). Now, I know that I've read from developers about Rivals having 5 or 6 XBox's being able to connect for one game, so I'm assuming they put that same functionality in Top Spin where you can have 4 independent XBox's connecting for a 2 v 2 doubles match... just saying that that quote didn't specifically say that. hehe
Somebody's glass is ALWAYS half empty. But there's NO doubt in my mind what this means, it is doubles online with 4 different xbox's!
After being burned by ESPN NHL and empty promises, I'm starting to take a more pesimistic view of developers. I'm pretty sure it will have 4-XBox support, since Rivals will have multiple XBox support too, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Well ESPN had screwy developers that took over that game late, so a lot of things were left out. Top Spin has been in development for over 2 years, so I'm sure everything they wanted WILL be in there...like 4 Xboxes for doubles play. Hopefully!
and if it wasnt going to be 4 xbox support they wouldnt have said find a partner they would have just simply stated grap a friend, buddy, etc. to play with.
I'm curious to see if it'll let the doubles teams be on different voice channels so you and a teammate can discuss strategy, etc. during the match. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS GAME!
Im sure they will, or they will have the option of pressing the white/black button to talk on a closed channel to one another.
I'm not a fan of the channel voice, I like everyone on the same channel just like on the court. Unreal used channels and I really didn't like it, but hopefully it will be an option that will be selectable per match or in your profile.
I would like to be able to talk to the other team as well, but if you're playing doubles, it'd be good to be able to quickly whisper to a teammate whether you're serving wide or DELIVERING A SAMPRAS BULLET DOWN THE T BABY!
channels would definitely help that, but worst case if there aren't channels we could just draw out some plays and make call signs for those plays.... you guys are soooo going down. :twisted: :twisted:
