I vouch for this. Dub was randomly assigned to the shitshow we had going in Philadelphia that hockster stepping in to fix in S14, but he stuck around and help us make it to the playoff, 2nd round too I believe.

 

Sorry, unless you just went back and edited, I believe all you said was that if you knew Active was bidding on Dub, then you would bid Dub through the roof to make sure he wasn't on Active's team. The way you worded that is implying you wouldn't be bidding on him if Active or some other good owner wasn't bidding on him too. Also you didn't mention putting a solid group of guys around him in the other post either. Leave Dub's reading comprehension alone. There's nothing wrong with it.

I just think this whole, "let's screw over another team" strategy is a waste of time. Bid on a player for how much he is worth to your team, not someone else's.

 

I also said if I had the room I would bid on him because obviously he's a good player. I was just using another old Owner as an example. I can understand that it may be worded poorly. And I said if I had the space (implying I had decent players around him) I would bid on him in order to get him. I don't just bid on someone to boost the bid. But that is also strategy that some Owners use. Is it right no, but i would be surprised if the majority don't put a simple courtesy bid on all top players. Just the way it is. Goes back to if you want to pick what team you want to play for, play EASHL. The bidding process hasn't even started and ppl are already freaking out about how high they will go. I really don't think it will be an issue because of how deep the league has become. Give it a chance..

I agree with what you said for some people, but I think you're dragging some players into it who wouldn't do that (like the egomaniac Dub). I can think of players who would only play for their friends teams, and some who wouldn't. I think you said it in your previous post but can't fully remember, but you were putting a majority of top players in the category who would strictly play for their friends team which I don't think is true.

As for the cap issue (going with what has happened in previous VHL bidding) there is no player worth 10 mil or more in my opinion, unless for some reason you really have an excessive amount of cap space, and even then it's still good to leave yourself with space for moves during the season. I mean, Tendy at 10 mil? Really?

 

Why does it matter? No one will know who's bidding on who unless they publicly announce it. I took what dub said as a joke. Even if he was serious who gives a shit.
