I went over to the Xbox.com forums (mistake I know). They are all complaining about the multiplayer?????? What's the deal? They, the collective, are calling for a patch? What gives? I set up one game last night and it was as smooth as silk.
Crying about match settings. I still don't undertsand since I haven't really played around with the match settings. Most are saying you can't select the type of game you want :? I don't get it.
I was reading that last night too. Why? I don't know. They were saying something about not being able to choose the type of match unless you play with friends. I don't know since I haven't been online yet.
I think the beef is with "ranked" games. If that's the case then I can see why all the little stat hos at Xbox.com are crying. You can set up "parties" where only those on your friend's list, and I believe friends of your friends, can get in. So all the little piss ants with no friends can't play
The only thing so far that I have not liked is that their doesn't seem to be a way to play co-op campaign mode online. If their is please someone inform me.
Soad, I'm pretty sure I read that you CANNOT play co-op online. I've only walked through the maps offline, but I don't think there's a lot to them to be honest. Kind of small and restricted. I was hoping for some more open type maps. I've only played through the top half mind you. But the one's I've played that have vehicles almost seem like a waste of time to even have the vehicles becasue it's quicker to run to where you need to get. I'm not "crying" by any means since I've yet to play online and really check it out. This is just my first impression.
I have only played on three Maps so far. I have yet to experience the same feeling I had when I played Sidewinder on Halo. I actually hope some of the old maps make their way as DLC. On the crying note, I found out why people are upset. It's because you don't get to pick the "ranked" game you play. Bungie matches you automatically with people of the same skill. You pick the parameters of the type of game you want and Bungie hunts it down. It's actually a great system and protects the integrity of the ranks. The people upset about it are the ones with a limited Friend's list or those concerned with running up the stats. I think the online interface is awesome.
Yea, you can do Co-op online. I was in a room with a friend of mine playing co-op. Once in the lobby the "party leader" can go into the options and switch to co-op.
Are you sure man?? When you try to go co-op under live settings it has a big message saying co-op can only be played by two people on one system. (Something like that) It looks like the intended to have it but it got pulled out. J.
I'll give you the lowdown on what i've experienced so far.. the game i been playing on most of us have at least a 512k upstream, so lag is never an issue (ussually, unless someone has a really bad connect to a matchmade game) The biggest issue is that the gametypes suck ass, 1st of all the settings bungie have suck, worse of all being that sometimes when playing trough "team skirmish" lastnight we had to play the same map & gametype 5 times in a row (zanzibar, 1flag CTF) it never switched to something new, then we went onto midship, we again played that like 5 or 6 times alternating between ctf and bomb... basically there is no variety when doing matchmade games (so then ppl flock to custom games, however those are invite only and most of the time is hard to get a good room going) also, there are several bugs that have been found already (look at this if you have an HDTV http://xblracing.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=368118#post368118 ) and many other things like random disconects or the BIG infamous "could not load map" many experience.. anyway halo is great, but not bug free... (makes you wonder how good the beta teams really were)
