Just how safe are these forums from hackers?? If you go to XGP now you will see a nice little message from the hackers themselves. Some peeps do the stupidest things for a laugh.

That is so wrong. Rk puts all his effort into making a great place for gamers to meet and play and some little fuktard hacks it. A lame hack at that.

Yea, XGP is awesome. I love hanging out there, it is a great all around atmosphere. I hope it gets back up soon

I put alot of effort running their hockey league, I hope rk can get the site back up!! This sucks.

 

I spoke with him and his host is looking at getting it restored. Worse case scenario we loose a weeks worth of posts.

 

I havent been there in months... and have erased my cookies numerous times... Really weird...

 

Sorry about the email's guys. From the IP we tracked down that it was someone using an ISP in freakin' Saudi Arabia. So I believe this was most likely a random attack much like that of what happened to T2k's forums a while back, only we didn't get any of that cheerful music.

As far as I can tell it doesn't appear that they tampered with any files on the site, but rather the Database, to which myself, nor the ISP was able to fix. So we are qued up in wait for 1 to 2 hours for the most recent database backup, which I'm told was from last weekend. So, hopefully within the next few hours we'll be back up and running, albeit minus all the posts since the update. We apologize for any inconvenience to our members, as well as all those who received the emails.

Thanks for the kind words in this thread fellas. I know Tris10 and the rest of the staff and league comishes know how much work goes into sites like these and to have some asshole come in and fuck it all up just sucks. Especially in this case, where we believe it to be a completely random attack, from Saudi Arabia no less.

The site is back up, however, we did lose 3 days worth of posts, probably somewhere around 500 posts are just lost forever. But I guess it could have been worse. All is well now.

 

You can take our towers, even our powerplants, but when you fuck with our video game sites? All hell will break loose.
