Nhlpa approves head shot rule for rest of season

Me against these vulnerable head shots has NOTHIINNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can't stress that NOTTTTHINNNNNNG enough about the media.

I understand 100% what you are talking about Jody, that you gotta keep your head up. But it's not cut and dry like that. These players are professional NHL players they have learned to keep their head up by now, they aren't playing minor hockey or juniors. These hits almost 98% of the time are not a result that their heads were simply down.

There is no checking from behind, because you are in a dangerous position to be seriously injured. The same rule should be implimented from your BLIND SIDE.

Check from behind = completly blind
Check from your right as you are passing to the left = blind side.

 

The game is too fast to determine someone elses blindside. Seriously. People that think you can make that determination in .7 seconds have obviously never laced em up.

 

Is there a teleportation device available to move me to where he can see me? No. Then run him the F over.

 

How long exactly have you played the game of hockey Gerbox? i've been playing still to this day. You can't determine things in .7 seconds? maybe you were born without the canadian hockey chromosome because I sure as hell can determine a blind side hit and probably less than .7 seconds.

Watch the marc savard hit, watch it a billion times.. if you can't tell thats blind side there is no hope for you.

I guess as he is shooting, he should have kept his head up, and swiveled fully to his RIGHT so he could see cookie coming as he is shooting.

The video even slows down in slow motion. For those that need 3 to 4 seconds to determine whats going on in a hockey game.

Blind side hit, did not take me .7 seconds to see Jagr was in a vulnerable position. Suspension.

Clean hit on Jagr, took me .3 seconds to realize this. Jagr is fully aware ovechkin is coming this is a front on hit.


There is your prime examples of the difference between a blindside hit. The marc savard hit, the ruutu hit on jagr vs a great hit that ovechkin laid out.

The game isn't going to change one bit now that the NHL has the ability to suspend hits like Mat Cooke.

Even Guerin, Cookes own teamate thought cooke should have been suspended.

Comprise a list of every NHL player that is pro blind side hits then we can talk.

 

Let me point out here that this could of still been a monstrous hit WITHOUT the shoulder to the head. There was a lot of body there opened to being hit. He chose head. One of the small group that ruin it for everybody.

 

They aren't running the person over they are hitting them with their shoulder in the head. Body the person but make sure your shoulder doesn't hit the head. If you are too tall for that to be done, don't do it. Find another way. If the player is that broken up about it, then yes I do believe they should start looking into teleportation devices.
