How should long-term planners like @Vattyyy feel about this idea to abruptly decide to have a roster reset? He has traded away significant player contracts in an effort to stockpile draft picks, in order to take a patient long-term approach to team building. He sacrificed a chance at a playoff run this season in order to obtain 11 draft picks, including six 1st round picks. So he's supposed to just accept that all his long-view rebuild efforts were for nothing? That this rough stage/season in the rebuild... this careful, shrewd investment in the future of his organization, was actually just a huge waste?
It was a deeper player pool and probably better mgmt groups. The fact that rosters started from scratch is not what made there be less bad teams. The More You Know
Eliminate trading resigns. Resetting every NHL would drive management out and would attract most of the trolls for a season who would then quit when they realize once again they cant build a team.
Eliminate resigns seems like the go to thing now. I personally feel more has to be done with the bans that do happen. Some players are simply too OK with just paying out their bans if they get on a team they don't want to be on. Management probably feels pressured to trade or get nothing in return. I'd like to see some bans from repeat offenders that can't be bought out for 2 seasons.
Can we get rid of the 6 mil AGM already and go back to the old ways? This allowed more inexperienced guys a crack at doing some of the bitch work in hopes that they would become interested in taking Ownership (with some prior knowledge of the level of dedication needed to grind it out).
We actually feel this is a good approach? Draft picks are as close to worthless as anything in this league.
There is a simple question that must be asked if a roster reset is needed. Will it be fun ? Yes. Will it fix shit ? probably yes What if all fails ? Reset every game This LGHL business must be approached like a TV show, the people want drama , the people want blood , the people want to be entertained!!! Please give us the CACA we demand. As a certified computer technician , I can assure you 80% of the problems can be fixed by resets. #LGRESETMATTERS
Whoever says we need a roster reset because we need to introduce vegas in the league How do you make it work you currently have 30 teams which means 15 match ups per lg games Now if you add vegas to it you have an odd numbers of team which is 31 so that would mean 1 team doesnt have a match up every lg game times
I feel like a Roster Reset is required. Before I start I have been very against this and management knows this. We're just at a stand still when it comes to league balance. Obviously the better management have better teams and so on, but it just makes the rich richer, and the poor poorer. It shouldn't be reset every fucking game though, that's ridiculous. Every 10 seasons is a good number or whenever the league gets grossly out balanced like it is now. P.S. Next time I go in bidding, don't fucking bid on me if you're a shitter.
2 resigns and no resign trade that how teams like winnipeg and sj keep most of there guys on the team year after year also bring up the resign number so it make it harder for team to resign same player over and over again i agree if a new team is added next season a reset would be the way to go with the new rules i explain at the begining of my paragraph. i think this is the best way to go for the futur doing this we will see more quality players in bidding every season and not always the same guys in bidding every season.
What incentives would be deemed good enough? I've been exploring possibilities to try and get as many digital download copies of NHL 18 as I can get my hands on from EA at a discounted price or for free. Do the veteran owners whom have been around battling through this feel that would be a decent incentive to return? Keeping in mind no one on staff, me included get anything to continue to manage and run the league. Obviously the size of this community and years upon years of dedication landed me in my GC role which many will consider an incentive to continue. That being said LG and leagues of this nature have always ran off the principles of this was a hobby where those of you whom want to volunteer time make the league better. I also agree the quality of the game appears to be the number one issue that has plagued leagues of this nature since NHL 15. We should be able to agree that from 15 to present day the has gotten better but it still isn't at a place where some of this community feel it needs to be to draw in better talent and managers. So what kinds of things do you feel would be decent incentives that's LG can offer you keeping in mind League staff gets nothing and no one actually pays money to play here. i think that is what the majority of managers whom want a reset are seeing. They believe in order to make adjustments to contract issues and and things we discussed to had balance can only be obtained by ensuring we reset then allowing a fresh start with these new rules. Rather than grandfather in new rules into a league where teams are stacked based on old rules. Pay management? With what money? How much? This isn't a franchise it's a free to play website where the only person here who ever see any money is the site owner whom has dedicated 15 years of his life to create this legacy. We have staff members whom dedicated 25-40 hours a week here for free to give these managers a league to manage in. Paying people to be managers has to be the most unrealistic idea I've read today. With 3400+ sign ups a season the league will never go to two lines. Some have suggested to do away with RFA completely and have drafted players on expiring contracts head back to bidding. What's your issues with FNP? Id like to introduce Thursday Night 3s to the league. Hence why for the past few months I've been pushing so hard to eliminate Thursday night games. When I was in Vancouver in April, I got a chance to play 3v3 EASHL. I personal feel it adds a new flavour to the game and could be something fun for LG. Owner selection is a committee. The staff get a say and the current owners all have a private say on who should and shouldn't be returning or should get a shot a vacant team likely Wait til Quebec City has a team in NHL 19
