After three successful events sponsored by Space eSports, @Tris10 and I are looking to see if the community has any ideas for improvements for the next set of events. If you have any ideas, please post it here!
Keep semis/finals same times we play the regular season at Add no fighting to the rules, we wants 6s with no AIs Correct the wording of when a team forfeit to makes sure all games are turned into a 1-0 FF. As of right now, you could interpret the rules to not change OTLs. Add H2H tiebreaker into consideration when only two teams are tied. Have points, wins, regulation wins still be first but then have H2H there before going into GA, etc.
So Standings Tie Breakers Points (more) Wins (more) Wins in regulation (more) Head to Head (between the two teams tied) Goals Against (less)
I suggest that but you would have to add If only two teams are tied. If there is a 3 way tied, you can't use H2H, especially since not everyone plays each other.
Less teams and make teams play each others atleast once. I know its free but GOD DAMN IT, how many time are teams gonna sign up to only play like 2games and losing like 8-0 after 1 periode to only realise that they should have just never sign up. Lets be honest, last season there was like around 30teams maybe 32/33 that had potential to beat good teams and all. Less teams and make teams play each others once will give EVERYONE the same schedule. Which in my opinion fair for everyone. Playing twice each others would be perfect, but with an average of 35teams it would TAKE WAY TOO LONG. Like everyone knows everyone whos good at the game or atleast good decent. If you have all kind of trouble in chl, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT YOULL GET BETTER by playing organised teams that scrims every nights againts top teams? We all know that the best way to improve is to play vs better players, but at the same time we can see when a team just have no chance. This way, we will see less forfeits, less teams quiting after 1 week, in my opinion getting to playoffs will be even harder since you wont play teams that you can beat 8-0 after 1. Of course top teams will still make playoffs, thats not what im saying, but even for them their games will be harder, because instead of playing a team that has no idea what they are doing, they will play a team that has a chance to beat them in a game. In my opinion it would make the season even more fun for everyone.
Split up the days to be Monday Thursday (or leave them Sunday Thursday – if it ain't broke, don't fix it.. or better yet, don't break it) instead of back to back days. It's hard to commit a whole night to video games let alone 2 nights in a row. At least if they're split up you can set up a legitimate work schedule around that, but for most people getting 2 nights off in a row would be tough.
Completely agree, Brodie and Tris you are forgetting people work and have school, Sunday is easily EASILY the most available day for eshl and it’s not close, I understand they don’t want lg to correlate with it but who cares LG is a free league and ESHL is the backbone of those game in my opinion with all the top players. Not everyone has full availability and is really going to screw some people attending school, like me. If you guys would like to do back to back days do Sunday Monday and lg can be on Thursday, most people that play lg have really good availability. One day is hard enough during that but BACK to BACK days is crazy.
H2H can still be viable for more than 2 teams. For example, if there are 3 teams AND they all played each other, H2H is still valid. If one team is 2-0 and the others are 1-1 and 0-2, the 2-0 team should advance. Only disregard H2H for multiple teams if they haven't all played each other.
Have all playoff series be a best of 7. Play the semis and the finals on the same days and times we play eshl throughout the entire season.
