Shocked to hear this today from nosleeves. Didnt know him well, but heard a lot of good things, and always treated me with respect. I recently lost my father in the same way, its always better to talk to someone about these things, if you knew him well please dont hesitate to reach out, not only to me but anyone just to not bottle things up inside. RIP buddy.

 

I haven't been on this site in quite some time but after hearing about this I felt like I should say something.

I didn't really know Vibez the way guys like Akon and Flapjack conveyed, but over the years in the management chat I got to know him as well as anyone else in there. He was a dude who played this game seriously in an attempt to build a good team but also knew not to take it so seriously that he treated others like shit if things didn't work out.

Over the seasons we had our fair share of "shit talk" sessions to each other but I think for both of us it was recognition that we both enjoyed running teams and were relatively good at it despite not being great players ourselves. We both kind of played characters in there and I had a whole lot of fun whenever we talked. I always believed that we both knew each other were messing around and just running with it for the laughs.

I am not ashamed to admit that the only time I accepted a challenge to a VS game was against Vibez, and his 2 goals on 3 shots won it for him. I lost to Vibez, and I'm okay with that.

From the first time I heard this guy speak on the AHL show in season 4, it was easy to tell that this guy knew players and he proved it once becoming an NHL owner, only missing the playoffs once in his tenure I believe. For someone who would admit he doesn't have great thumbs, it's pretty impressive what he did as an LG owner, much better than a lot of people with a lot better thumbs.

Rest easy buddy, the community as a whole suffers a big loss with this news, you may have not being playing anymore either but I think most people would agree that it was a lot more empty without you.

 

Dude definitely was a unique personality, but he was damn good at finding those good players... diamonds in the rough and fielding damn good teams and making it fun. Tough to hear. RIP bro

 

I hope someone can send this thread to his family, I know they’d love to read some of this.

 

Sad to hear about Vibes. He was someone who cared a lot about LG as an owner.

We can all learn something from this experience and know that life is too short. Lets turn this community around and stop being toxic. We just need to have fun and good games with one another because at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter.

Vibez and I only had one negative encounter in the VG managers chat a while back. Even after some choice words for each other, I was short a player in daytime chel and shot him an invite. Dude joined immediately and played whatever position we had open.

It's a little thing, but it kind of epitomizes Vibez. Daytime chel isnt easy to fill and the games often end up in 10-0 blood baths, but for a few weeks, I'd shoot him an invite, wed wait to gather six, and he'd take whatever spot was left. LD? Sure. Center? Ok. Goalie? Fuck it. There would be whole games where he didnt face a shot. He'd leave from his ps4 halfway through the game and come back 20 minutes later. But when the next game rolled around? Hes back to taking goalie.

Because he was happy filling in and making the other 5 guys happy.

Dude had a good heart. And then it gave out. Rest easy, big man. Hope you can up that max bench wherever you go next.
