I have now concluded my analysis for positions of the top players NOT in the LGHL. I purposely left out my own position of Goalie from my rankings as to eliminate my bias for myself. Instead, I think it would be a cool idea for the community to vote on who they feel are the top 3 goalies NOT in the LGHL. Below I have selected a few of the Goalies that I would have either ranked in the medal categories or given an honourable mention. Everybody will be given 3 votes in the poll above to vote. Top vote getter will get Gold, second Silver, and third Bronze. Here are your nominees (no particular order): @Crease-Fire – Bakersfield Condors – 3x Seasons of good NHL experience from S1-S3. Has a 25 and 30-win season back then. More recently returned for a full AHL season and went 18-11-1 with a 76 SV%. Was just added to the Condors roster today. @Rickstoneman11 – Bakersfield Condors – 1 really good season in Iowa in S5 with a 22-6-3 record and an 80 SV%. Hasn’t played a full PSN season since, big bounce back year coming. @xSkyhawk024x – Bakersfield Condors – The 3rd Condors goalie to appear on this list, and for good reason. Sky has been on the PSN side since S1 and has some great seasons to show for it. S3 & s4 stand out the most, going a combined 43-20-5 with S4 having a 78.9% SV%. Sky is a former teammate and good friend of mine who clubs with me constantly. Has had a string of bad luck in terms of what teams he has been on recently but is usually good for at least a .500 record and a SV% north of 77%. @Krok-o-dill – Binghamton Devils – Hey look its me! Former Center turned Goalie, I got a shot right away in the NHL last season on a bad team. Went 14-18-4 with a 77.9% SV%. Back down to the AHL this year with a good team and started off week 1 strong: 5-0-1 83% SV%. @C_Hines5 – Cleveland Monsters – Well travelled goalie with 3x seasons of NHL experience. Negative overall record and a paltry 71% SV%. Gets on because he stuck around for so long. Back in the AHL after a long hiatus to see if he can regain some form. @lx JoneZ xl – Iowa Wild – When he plays, he plays well. 40-23-5 total record in the NHL on PSN with an 82 SV%. Only knock is that he doesn’t play a ton of games. Most GP in 1 season was 26 Games. Expect this season to be given the workload if he wants to play a ton each week. Started off S7 on fire, 87% SV%, 4-0-1. @DrNasty415 – Manitoba Moose – Great record and 80% Sv% in the CHL. Lost his first game since S1 (!!!) in the AHL this past week (26 games including 8 preseason and 2 playoffs). S6 has him spending some time in the NHL and impressing – 11-4-2 78.9% SV%. Would be nice to see a full AHL season this year. Like Jonez, give him the workload! @iCb4uC – Ontario Reign – Great breakout season in S6 with 26 wins and 80.6% Sv%. CHL stats were average but he has cemented himself into to another year with the Reign and got 6 starts in Week 1 with good success. @tibod68 – Providence Bruins – Long-time & steady Goalie on the PSN side. Career 77% Sv% across 3 AHL seasons. Had his best in S1 with the Bears going 22-13-4. S6 looked like the first one he really took off and just hung around in the CHL for spot duty. Back in the fold now with the Bruins and we can see what he has for us this season. I should mention that he had 1 full NHL season and went 21-13-3 with a serviceable 76% SV%. Kind of weird he hasn’t seen much time since then. @MrGhillieDMR – Rochester Americans – Great season last year with the high powered Cudas. 19-3 with a 84% Sv%. CHL stats support that maybe he wasn’t carried by one of the best AHL teams of all time. Big season for Ghillie to prove what he is. @WestSideHockey – Rochester Americans – Both Amerks goalies appearing on this list. West Side has some tenure in the league. Phenomenal 34-10-4 Season 5 followed up by a good 19-8-2 S6 with the Marlies. 78% Sv% over his AHL career which is solid to say the least. @bobbatta – San Diego Gulls – Back to Goalie for Bobbatta, who although never playing an AHL season as a goalie has 2 full NHL seasons of 37 wins. Career 78% SV% in the NHL is impressive for this constant shout box presence. Kind of surprised an NHL team didn’t take a chance for 500k. @Big superkid – Springfield Thunderbirds – An up and comer on the goaltending scene. Great S6 from basically out of nowhere. 18-9-2 with 82% Sv%. Up for another big year this year on the Birds. @DrOz2385 – Springfield Thunderbirds – 3x AHL seasons of at least 19 wins. Career 76% AHL Sv% which is a bit on the lower side. Got a shot at the NHL and it didn’t go very well to say the least. Another AHL season will do him good and being on a good team won’t hurt. @primetimephresh – Syracuse Crunch – After playing different positions for the majority of his CHL time, Prime has moved to full time goalie in the AHL and has done well over the last 2 seasons playing for Rockford. He has a career 79.9% Save% in the AHL and a 57-26-4 record. S6 stands out with 36 wins and 12 losses. It will be interesting to see if he can match those numbers on the Crunch this season. (4-1 in Week 1) @Memlocke – Texas Stars – Solid CHL numbers in S5 turned into a very impressive s6 for the Rampage. 21-13-3 with 78.1 SV% in his rookie AHL season. Mem moves to the Stars this season with a chance to once again be a starter. @tsibs88 – Toronto Marlies – Everybody’s favourite radio host and AHL PSN constant, Tsibs has really had 1 truly dominant season (S4 with the Bears, 21-8-0 78.8 Save %). He has had some tough seasons record wise but has managed a 75% Save % career, which is right on the line of being average. He will have a good season this year with the Marlies and we should see Sibs return to his S4 season dominance. @KQ31 – Tucson Roadrunners – KQ started off as a goalie before she switched to Defense in S3. She has 2 seasons of middling NHL experience as a goalie in S1 & S2 where the Sv% and record weren’t ideal. In S6 she went back to goalie and spent the season with Tucson putting up a respectable 19-12-3 record and a great 84.2% Sv%. She has another round with the Roadrunners this season and should be able to put up similar numbers. Only played 1 game in week 1, so hopefully scheduling works out and she can get some more games in. She could carry 6 games on a AHL team is she wanted to. That’s it! Vote away. If there is anyone you think I missed that you want included in the poll, comment with their names below and if your post will need to get enough “Likes” to match the medal winner votes in the poll. Think of it as a write-in vote. That’s it! I’m done with this series for now. Hope you enjoyed!
