Confused about point I thought the points were given by what round you lost in, but when looking at this I am confused, just how do the points work? You get points for each set you win too. People with byes get the same points as if they actually played the game and won 2 sets.
My game with JOKRMAN92 still needs to be changed to 2 sets or 2 - 0 for him. Just a friendly reminder:wink:
As jon said, you get 2 points for each set you win, 1 for each you lose. If you get a bye, thats treaded as a 2-0 set win in the first round. You only get the tournament points when you've either been knocked out of the tournament, or won the entire thing. This is why the rankings are always sync'd after a tournament has been completed
So If I am playing an opponant I am dominating, I should blow the 2nd set on purpose to get the one extra point, and then beat them in the 3rd? Doens't make a lot of sense to me to give someone a an extra point because they had to go 3 sets instead of 2 to win. :?
if your dumb enough to do that, all power to you. I know i won't try that because of that ITZ meter, once you lose that and the other guy is full, your done!
I don't think the ITZ meter affects gameplay all that much to me anyway. I am not saying I would do that, because it's a waste of time for a point, I am just saying why reward a player that wasn't able to win in 2 sets, when the player who wins in straight sets would get less points. It just seems like the wrong guy is getting rewarded is my point.
the reason we did it, is so a guy that gets knocked out first round in straight sets, won't just get 1 point to show for the entire tournament
