Elite d is a rare commodity

I'm not sure we understand each other -- I wasn't talking about skill gap, I mean more along the lines of someone complaining, for example, that the real life NHL all-star game selected more forwards than defensemen. Well of course -- more forwards play the game and are needed to fill a line-up, so fewer D will accordingly be selected. Hope that clears things up/I didn't miss your point.

 

How about this stat

out of the top 100 forward players 47 are elites

out of the top 100 D 8 are elites

I get that you have 180 D's and 360 forwards but still

I see D's with great records good +/- with points on the boards not getting it, just saying.

 

I'm terrible, I don't know how I was ranked the top D-man last week. There must be no good d-men.

 

From a completely bias source I can say Goblin is as elite as they come and deserves that#1 spot in that rankings thread.

But you are 100% correct in the fact that the line that you play with has a huge influence on your stats. He does play on a very dominant line but he is a major piece of that line since let's not forget the rest of that qc line is all pretty much 500k

One of the problem is D's have no xps attribute advantages thanks EA , I see wingers with 93 poke check 93 defensive aw 90 shot blocking wtf this should be strictly reserved for 2wd or DD's .

 

this game just doesn't track the correct stats for dmen. for example, I dump the puck in...opposing team gets possession, its counted as a turnover, so you can't use that. blocked shots don't register like they should. hit stats can be laughable. penalties suck total dick in this game. +- is kinda iffy to use.

I think most forwards would call the "elite" dmen are on the ones they have playing against, the ones that frustrate you and force you to make quick passes.

 

That's not true unless your name is keso. Most of the "Elite D " have good forwards on there team thats use the D often.

who cares if it actually says "elite" on your name or not. it's meaningless. I think I was "elite" for a hot second because I had like a +13 night. its an aberration.

 

This is truly reflected on the ice by your gameplay.

AboveaverageD . I was being completely sarcastic, I'm talking about forwards anilizing defensive zone plays from their view on the far side of neutral zone. Sometimes their advice is valid, other times it's clear that they have only played "D " on a PK.

Pretty simple concept: you win games, and score a ton of points, you are elite.

Pretty sure most of us on here know who the quality dmen are, and I'm sure we can all agree that the best dmen don't always put up the most points.
