First Impressions...

You had 40 plays, I had 20. 60 total, or about half of a real NFL game. Clearly not enough. I think we only had about 5-6 drives each.

well I put it on rookie as I learned the playbook for my first two games against the AI and killed AI 35-0 and then 63-0, tomorrow I will be bumping it back to pro and see what kind of results I can get. Those were also 5 min quarters and I will be increasing the time as I increase the difficulty.

 

Just a little quick reply to the field goal thing, they should make it pretty easy to get field goals cuz most kickers are automatic.

Holy sh*t, yeh when I first started NCAA I wooped up on teams, 112-7 yippee. Once again I do notice it is not ESPN, but it is football none the less.

 

Thats the other thing with 8 min quarters, blow outs will be un realistic. That game could have been an over 200 point game (with both teams).

I can see why you would want 8 min, for the stats and such. But you cant get everything right. We aren't the real life league. Same thing with MotoGP - even with 100% sims, the races wouldn't come out like the real thing. So its tough trying to push for 100% realism. We should do what everyone will like.

 

maybe we should play games on All-Pro level? or maybe even legend? i don't think the defensive AI on Pro is good enough to keep scores from being too high...

i'm referring to that 84-20 game. and this is only day one, i can imagine a 100 point game not being too far behind.

might also need to tweak sliders since everyone seems to be having alot of success running (too much success?)

Like I said from the beginning, I'm sure we'll need to play this game for a couple of weeks and figure out which settings will be best for the league.

I had a great game against MP, we both played really good defense and the scoring was low.. lots of punting.

Skater just didn't play good defense, that's all. Just like in NHL this season, if you don't play def, all of the slider adjustments in the world aren't going to help you keep the puck out of the net.

Before we completely shoot down 8min quarters, give everyone a chance to get used to the game. It was only his 2nd game (only played 1 qtr previous to our matchup) and he DID have the ARZ Cardinals.

 

yeah, i can't imagine what kind of offensive numbers my Ravens are going to put up...

Yes.

I'm going to start playing All-Pro when online to see if that yields a more realistic game of football.

 

i think pro is fine...just cuz u gave skater a royal beating doesnt mean its not fine...
