For people who are not won in the draft or bidding of the NHL/AHL

There seems to be some confusion in this subject so I'm going to take a minute to explain what I can.

You are only eligible for the NHL draft if you were a P status player in season 1 or you are a new member.

No matter what your status is if your player rights are not won via draft or bid at the NHL/AHL level you will have your players right randomly assigned (RA) to an organization and will be on an AHL teams training camp (TC).

If you are a P status player and you are not won in the NHL draft you will go through the CHL bidding along with anybody else that was not won in bidding at the NHL/AHL level. So you may have 17 guys on 1 CHL team and everybody could be playing for a different organization.

Also even though youre on a CHL team you can also be used as an emergency call up (ECU) to help your AHL or NHL team in need of a player to cover for someone on their roster that cant make their scheduled game and then after the game you will be back on your CHL team.

Even though you are on a CHL team whatever organization you are randomly assigned to can trade your player rights with another organization. So you could be on the Utica Comets 1 day and the next you could unfortunately be on the Chicago Wolves (@Jlm1410 @VibezDigital ) and you would still be on the same CHL team.

This is just the little bit of information that I know. If there is something I need to add or edit let me know in the comments and I will fix whatever information that needs it.

If you are on the Charleston Chiefs of the CHL (doesn't exist) and your rights belong to the Utica Comets and they decide to ECU you one night you may not necessarily play. It doesn't matter what your status is, or was, as an example if you are scheduled to play that night for the Chiefs and the Utica staff doesn't bother to communicate with the Chiefs owner, you can't ECU for anyone.

 

If you're getting ecued that means you're playing

 

Yeah, and it's up to the management of the CHL team as to where that will be under a lot of circumstances.

 

Well if the ahl has to forfeit because the chl doesn't want to lend us one of our players then that's just dumb

 

They have a very large pool of players not just one. Should the CHL team forfeit just because an AHL team wants Joe Shmo to play with his cousin on Friday?

 

Well we'd probably want a certain guy for position and talent and we know he's active, we'd just want the best possible option for our team

 

No CHL owners are going to be knobs about the situation. However, they have already been threatened with having players pulled out of spite and other things which I just won't repeat. The us VS them attitude is ridiculous. We are all in the same league.

 

The chl and ahl need to work together instead of fighting, cause we're going to need them more then they'll need us

 

Than COMMUNICATE with the CHL team and everything will go as smooth as silk. Much like these threads, lack of communication is a very hard thing to work through.

Then why were people jumping down the ahl gms throats then if we don't even have a set list for them yet

Why would a set list make a difference? Respect is respect and there was absolutely none going in one direction.

 

Because we'd actually know who we need to communicate with, and could of ignored all of the other shit that was going on, probably start a group chat with the owners to get private conversations

 

And that would have been just as disrespectful. I'm sorry but it's attitudes that need to change. When it's "your team, our players" mentality, it's going to be a huge struggle. Look at the organizations that did well last season. They worked as an organization, not two teams. A CHL owner has to work with every team, not just one. Not easy.
