I didn't understand how it worked exactly, but there are going to be online tournaments with Forza running through their website. From what I've read it sounds like everyone in the tourney runs a "time trial". The results place each member in a bracket and that's how the tourney is run. I kind of skimmed the article so I can't say for sure. One concern of mine was that people would run slow time trials to be seeded in the lower bracket. I'm certain that the Forza guys thought of that though so I'm sure there is more to it. Basically, the tournament idea sounds really good. I'm interested to see how the game and website work together. It's supposed to be a big deal. We'll see.
I'm a gearhead, definitely getting this game! Looking to buy and build my own car (2003 LeMans Blue BMW M5) if at all possible, for some SCCA-style club racing! -Pete
i'm going to give you guys a forum, feel free to post all idea's and if someone or a group of guys want to step up and try to run something, we'll definitly consider it
Would this league run on a certain day every week? Or would it vary? Even though I am now out of college, I have no fixed work schedule.
By the way, the tournament thing isn't near as cool as I though it'd be. There won't be any user created tournaments. All the tournaments are created by the Forza "mods" so to speak. User created tournaments would've been awesome I think. That was the cool thing about Rallisport. You had an event and could race it whenever you wanted before the deadline. The only bad thing was you could race it over and over again until you almost nailed it. Would've been cool if you could race trial runs and then only had one crack at putting up a decent score. Still better than Forza's tournament thing though. Neat idea, but would've liked to be in tournaments with people I trust.
