Get To Know Your Calder Cup Finalists!

Season 17 of LGAHL PSN has been a hell of a ride during the Calder Cup playoffs. Two teams stand out. The LeHigh Valley Phantoms and… nvm. Toronto Marlies vs Chicago Wolves. That is a wild matchup that contained serious sweaty games from both sides during the early round so the playoffs to get to where they are today. Let us start off with Toronto. From a good showdown against the Americans. To a LG community shocker in the Empire Belleville to the marsh-mellow covered sweep of a sweet sweet Hershey team. (Kudos to Hershey you guys are loved in my eyes and nose.) Toronto has been on fire. These guys have guys such as Kraftyx16 who is literally just that. A krafty little winger with a colored dot above his head. It’s wild how he maintains that color too. Yeah that was dumb. Anyway. Other Marlies have been stellar as well, from forwards @Mondsy- to sweaty dmen in @PXSTRNAK-_- @jblaze0514 then to stellar goalchickentenders in @Marts79 who I kid you not is undefe.. nvm won’t say the word but you get the hinterland. “Pretty garbage I can’t lie but hoping with a few tweaks here and there it should be Ight. It definitely has potential with the customization.”


7.) What advice would you tell a shitter like me onhow to improve at the Calder Cup Final level?


“Hopefully you’ll find yourself on a solid team with management that knows what they’re doing. A good group of guys that aren’t toxic and actually play the game and want to be better is probably the best way to find success.”


8.) Who would win in a battle to the death;Superman or Son Goku?


“No idea never seen either.”


9.) Do you plan on advancing your talent to the LGHL S18? Clearly you have shown you are more than capable!


“Hopefully get to play in the C after this season and get a chance at the mem cup. Would be able to retire with all three cups.”

“Usually just Nachos but the only cheese on top is fromunda”

“ESPN NFL 2K5. I always loved playing sports games growing up. I logged thousands of hours on ESPN 2K5 and there hasn’t been one single Madden game that can compete with it since. The franchise mode was deep, gameplay solid and features were better than modern Madden games.”


2.) “Sabres have been my favorite NHL team since the day I was born. My favorite hockey player of all time is Daniel Briere so watching him not even receive a offer because of cheap management in 2007 was heartbreaking. I wouldn’t trade my loyalty for anything though no matter how tough it gets being a fan of the worst team the last ten years. Eventually they will figure it out and hopefully one day win a Stanley Cup.”


3.) “I’m ok at skating but I’m not great at it. I can teach you and you would probably be better than me.”


4.) “No. if it was a deep fried tarantula sure because almost everything deep fried is edible. I just can’t picture myself sitting there eating a live hairy spider like that. 1 million just doesn’t go far enough anymore.”


5.) “The Wolves are a deep team from top to bottom. They control the puck forever and they play a really solid team defense. Everyone knows the top line has been the best line in the playoffs but the other lines have been rolling too. It will be a good defensive battle between both teams and we will see who comes out on top. I can see the series going to 7.”


6.) “I only was able to play the first 2 days because of a vacation but I would give the PS5 version a 8/10. I enjoyed how hard it was to pass, it actually made passing take skill instead of being easy like it is now. Custom builds being back brings more fun to it for me. The biggest downside was the lack of population on club which I see being a problem with the population split between 4 games. “


7,) “Just keep trying to improve. Be willing to listen to suggestions from others on how to improve your game. Watch tip videos from players on YouTube. Practice the tips and advice you get. Also have good communication with your teammates.”

The Western Conference Calder Cup Finalists, Chicago Wolves. What a team this management team has cooked up for this playoff run. Similar to Toronto in every way imaginable. From first to third we have studs everywhere and everything. Like Toronto, they took out a heavy weight in their division in Henderson and then an underdog in Palm Springs. 1.) First and foremost, congratulations on making it to the finals!! Seriously you’ve been stellar in net. What is your go to goalie build/loadout? For a shitter like me, are we supposed to use the right stick at all? Help a bad goalie out!


“I love the hybrid build. The all around attributes stay pretty consistent across the board. With the quick recovery 1 trait and Fiverr 2 trait, I have had great success with all of my movements. I use the Penalty kill trait as my specialist to help my team get full energy on a successful PK. As far as the right stick goes, I use that for cross crease passes. Helps me get across the crease as quick as possible to make the save. “



2.) Who is your favorite NHL player currently active (not retired)? Why?


“My favorite player is Charlie McAvoy from the Boston Bruins. Ever since attending a Boston University game a couple of years ago, I’ve watched him progress into the NHL and being a Bruins fan myself, couldn’t have been happier to see him land in Boston and be their top D core. “


3.) Did you play goalie in real life?


“I haven’t played the goalie position at all in real life. I grew up a defenseman and then a forward in high school. Playing goalie in The video game makes it easy for me to point out D zone coverage since I’ve played that position firsthand. I love being the last line of defense as a goalie. “


4.) What is something you wish to see implemented either gameplay wise or feature wise in future EA NHL games?

(E.g. I really want a hole revamp to the fighting engine ffs)


“the one thing that bothers me the most is on deflections, you lose all control of your goalie. Wherever you are when that deflection happens, you gotta hope you’re in the right spot at that time. So I’d like to see a little more control of your goalie. “

“definitely gotta go with Buffalo chicken pizza. I love spicy foods so anything with Buffalo sauce on it, I’m all for it “
