I'm new to this. got the game today. been playing some scouting games but im still confused how you get on a team. someone please explain. thanks!
Continue scouting and teams will have the opportunity to bid on your contract in 8 days. You can play in the NHL, AHL or CHL levels depending on when you are bid on by an owner/GM. I advise reading over the suggested rulebook currently stickied.
Scouting Games The scouting games are there for you to get your name out there and show the owners and management what you are made of. You want to play the best hockey you can so teams will be interested in you. Bidding This is a period of the offseason where after all of the scouting games are over is where the owners and management put their teams together. The owners and managment bid on players they want and the better players go for more money. There is an NHL, AHL, and CHL. If you don't make it into the NHL you go to AHL bidding and so on. A team has a salary that they have to be under at the end of bidding in order for the team to be valid. If you don't get bid on you will be randomly assigned to the random CHL team or training camp. What you want to do Go play in the scouting games to get your name noticed and to get teams interested in you so they bid on you. You need to be bid on to get onto a team. Best of luck bud and best of luck to all of the other players this offseason. - Patty
Hi Josh, and welcome to the league! By playing in scouting games, you are giving owners an opportunity to see what you bring to the table. You, along with everyone else not in management, will be placed in bidding, where owners will place bids on the players they want on their team. If you make the NHL, you will be notified what team has won your rights both on the website and from your owner via Xbox Live message. If you aren't bid on during NHL bidding, you will then be place in AHL bidding, where the same procedure applies. If you aren't in the AHL, you will start out in the CHL, either via bidding or random assignment. Once you are notified where you are going to play, you can then begin to practice and get familiar with your team members. Bidding for the NHL starts January 5th. Hope that clears everything up, and if you have any more questions feel free to ask. Good luck!
