    HR Derby tonight, wh

Who does everyone think will win the HR derby tonight?

    Here are the players involved:

    Barry Bonds
    Sammy Sosa
    Lance Berkman
    Rafael Palmeiro
    Hank Blalock
    David Ortiz
    Jim Thome
1 more player TBA, Giambi is hurt so he's not in it this year

Im gonna have to go with Sosa becasue of that short porch in LF. It's a shame Griffey got hurt because this would have been the first derby with 4 guys who have hit 500 or more HR's. Whoever wins I cant wait to watch it's always the best part of the all-star weekend, or weekdays this year

I think David Ortiz is going to win it. I really wish Vladimir Guerrero was in it, he is having a great year, but ohh well that is too bad.

Also too bad that Garrett Anderson has been out for about a quarter of the season as that put down his stats greatly. He could have been a back to back winner :)

Nope, Beltran is just filling up the extra spot in the All Star Roster. Lance Berkman is taking his place though. That is what I heard on Cold Pizza about 10 minutes ago lol.

Ya Berkman replaced Griffey in the derby, were still waiting on a replacement for Giambi in the derby. I would like to see Vald in it too, he's always been one of my favourtie players.

And Berkman also replaced Griffey into the outfield, just for All Mit's notice. The then empty roster spot got Carlos Beltran voted in.

I am very surprised Adam Dunn isn't in it, yeah he is only like 24 years old, but he is having a really good year, why not?

Paul Konerko or The Big Hurt should fill that last spot.

I don't think you need to be in the all-star game to be in the derby. Rafael Palmeiro isn't in the all-star game.

Yeah, Tejada it is. Here is a news article from mlb.com about the subject:

As for who it should have been...uhh Guerrero...he has 20, Tejada only has 15? That pisses me off a little, anti-Angel society.

But he still didn't get an offer, and they always say who was offered a spot in the Home Run Derby. Ohh well, GO DAVID ORTIZ!

I can't remember exactly from where I heard it but I thought I heard that Vlad was offered a spot but he turned it down along with A-Rod.
