I'm gonna harp on the giveaways and takeaways. As a dman they aren't a telling stat. The person who makes the play to remove the puck doesn't get a takeaway, and as an offensive dman like dis is, he's going to give the puck up more because he's like others have said is always controlling the puck.

So we will respectfully disagree there. The telling stats for dmen imo is points, wins, and goals against and goals for of his line and really nothing more.

Whether it’s in any league facet or simply on my own I have every intention of sharing my opinions and nominations for awards and such throughout the foreseeable future, and it is absolutely something I am hearing the feedback on and will be making efforts to better accommodate going forward.

That’s a promise.

As I’ve said on a couple responses, it’s definitely a stat I judged with a different mindset and see the validity in reassessing that stance. I will not edit or delete my prior thoughts on the matter as that would be disingenuous, but know that the feedback on giveaways (especially on offensively responsible defensemen) has been heard.

And in no way do I want it to come across as if @Distraqted or @Rezhomey had anything less than fantastic seasons and were both in my top 10. They are absolutely some of the best dmen in the league, regardless.

In the mean time, again thank you for the constructive feedback as well and it’s definitely part of the drama and interest of trying to select 1 single winner for subjective awards like “Best <anything>”

Was MDConMan a member of the AHL Media Team this season?

Duh, he wrote articles for the magazine

Of course, he was on the Media Streams with other media members

I certainly hope so since he spent hours of his real life reviewing stats and rankings

Probably, since he was put in charge of recruiting additional members for next season

Apparently not, because he was literally REMOVED from the Media Awards list that was submitted.

Clearly no, since his work was thrown out from not answering one night while asleep from meds.
