^ 1. (2) Belleville Senators 14-3-1 29 PTS

In week 2 Belleville proves to be the number one team in the league. Previously on my rankings they just below the Penguins. This team is easily the top team in the league right now, boasting a GF of 82 and a GA of 42 for a GD of +40. This teams offence combined with its defense will be a force all season, there is no doubt in my mind that they will continue to wreck havoc on the league.

B-Red and SAK-KA have been playing absolutely out of their minds. It's to no surprise that this team is in the position they are in right now thanks to their amazing play.

v 2. (1) Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins 14-3-1 29 PTS

This week we see the Penguins drop down from the number 1 spot. Although their play has still been at an elite level, Belleville has just been better offensively which gave them the advantage. This team will have no issues staying inside the top 5 all season, the overall makeup of their roster is very very good. So far on the season they have a GF of 65 and a GA of 37 for a GD of 28.

Once again this week both althewall and corn have shown their elite level of skills. If they keep playing at this level, which they probably will, Penguins will have no issues continuing their dominating season.

- 3. (3) Milwaukee Admirals 12-4-2 26 PTS

No change for the Admirals this week, there are a few teams that are very close to this spot as well but for now the admirals remain to be my choice for the 3rd spot in the power ranking. They have an edge in GF and GD to put them in the spot they're in. I can see this team staying in this position for the rest of the season. Very well built team and they're a very good contender for the Calder cup this season. GF of 80 and a GA of 54 for a GD of +26

Both of these players have just been continuing to light up the entire league, they shouldn't even really be in the AHL because they're that talented. Very fun players to watch and I'm sure they'll continue to dominate for the rest of the season.

^ 4. (5) Grand Rapids Griffins 12-3-3 27 PTS

The Grand Rapids Griffins this week have moved up to number 4 on my Power Rankings. Last week they had a GA of 28 and this week they have a GA of 27. Like I said before, I believe this team has lots of potential but they need to bring their GA down. On another note their offence has been firing on all cylinders. I love what I've seen from this squad so far.

Pepsi has been playing out of his mind for this squad so far. I love what he's been bringing to the table for this squad. Jeown has been a force on defense for this team all season long, and I cant see either one of these players slowing down any time soon.

v 5. (4) Chicago Wolves 12-3-3 27 PTS

This week we see the Wolves drop from 4th place to 5th place overall. They have an overall pretty good squad and they sit at the top of their division, Although they sit at the top of their division I don't believe they will stay there. This is definitely a top 10 team, but the Griffins and Admirals just seem so much better on offense and defense overall. Props to them for continuing their great start to the season. If they can improve their goal scoring and defensive abilities then they may stay around in the top 5.

These players are playing very well for their teams, which is no shock at all. Don't be shocked when you see these guys finish the season with 70+ pts.

^ 6. (16) Cleveland Monsters 12-4-2 26 PTS

Cleveland had an extremely rough week 1, this week we see them jump 10 (!!!) spots on the power rankings. Although they only had a 4 win week to start off the season, they made a tremendous impact during this past week winning 8 games out of 9 total. I'm sure nobody expected this team to come out and win 8 games after such a rough start in week one but @GhostxBearx and @Benny I93I have turned things around for week 2. Great job and hats off to the monsters, I'm sure we will continue to see them dominate the league for more weeks to come. GF of 72 and a GA of 38 for a total GD of +34.

^ 7. (11) Manitoba Moose 12-5-1 25 PTS

The moose come into week 2 of the season winning 7 games, after a mediocre 5 games won in week 1 they look to continue their hot spell into week 3. The moose are starting to look like the team that I believed they would be. I think this squad will be around this Power Ranking all season, and most definitely will be staying at least in the top 10. GF of 57 and a GA of 40 for a GF of +17.

As everyone probably would have expected, toe is currently leading his team so far in week 2. On the other end we have AHL Allstar playing lights out hockey in between the pipes.

- 8. (8) Tucson Roadrunners 11-4-3 25 PTS

The Roadrunners are playing pretty much the same hockey as they were in week 1, although this week they have 1 less point and 1 less win. This team leads their division currently by 4 points and it looks like they will continue to run the Western Pacific. This team currently has a GF of 72 and a GA of 40 for a GD of +32. I'd like to also mention that no other team in this entire division has a positive GD, so they are clearly the top team for this division.

Knights comes in to the team MVP conversation for the 2nd week in a row. He's been having himself an amazing season so far. Jahlee has also been added to this conversation after a 13 Pt week.

v 9. (7) Hartford Wolfpack 11-7-0 22 PTS

Hartford went from the 7th rank in my Power Rankings to number 9. I'm kind of shocked with the play of the wolfpack so far, at the beginning of the season I thought this team would be a top 5 team, and as the season goes on it just seems like they will continue to fall out of the top 10. Maybe some trades to shake up the roster? They currently have a GF of 59 and a GA of 43 for a GD of +16.

Both Zlurpy and Cxrdi have been producing very well for this squad so far, no surprise that these guys are at the top of their team.

^ 10. (19) Rochester Americans 11-6-1 23 PTS

After a mediocre week 1 performance, Rochester stepped up their game. Week 1 this team had a 0 GD, and they currently have bumped that up to +13 GD for the season. To add more icing to the cake the increased their wins from week 1 from 5 wins to 6 wins for week 2. This team has progressed a very good amount for week 2, becoming a top 10 team in the league and proving they can play good hockey. GF is currently 54 GA 41 for a GD of +13. On another note this team went from 25 GF in week one all the way to a 54 GF in week 2 for a +4 difference. This offense seems to started clicking a lot better this week, lets see if they can keep it up.

nice work, just cant understand how a team that you had 1st last week beats the team you had 2nd but than drops to 2nd below them. Im sure there is a method to the madness, but nice write up on the power rankings

 

Bellevilles GF is +17 compared to WKS, also 12 ahead in GD.

I respect your opinion, I dont agree with that concept because it disregards 1-0 wins or hard fought sweaty wins. When your looking at GF and GD, your giving a huge impact to teams playing easier games. just my opinion.

 

All opinions are welcome! Tbh this is just my second media piece so far, its taken me between 3-4 hours to complete, I could, in the future, look more in depth into game to game / toughness of schedule as well. I'm currently just trying out media but in the future it will be much more in depth of course

 

your doing great buddy, its already in depth and after thinking about it, if it was based on my opinion it would be similar to the standings.
