ANAHEIM DUCKS Draft Picks: (29) @Kometstickboy96 (72) @LoyyR Grade: C+ Best Value: @LoyyR : N/A Notes: Kometstickboy96 is a great pick at 29 (as long as he signs up). LoyyR (4.53 ppg) is a CHL GM this season but is a great value at 72 if the Anaheim brass has a multi-year plan. ARIZONA COYOTES Draft Picks: (19) @Scarn X Madness (51) @jcskillsmaster (65) @KeepYourChinUp (77) @Qwy (81) @TopFlight1423 Grade: B Best Value: @jcskillsmaster @KeepYourChinUp : N/A Notes: Similar to Kometstick in ANA, Scarn Madness is a good pick as long as he signs up. Arizona also scooped up two solid Dmen in the third round (KeepYourChinUp, Qwy). BOSTON BRUINS Draft Picks: (95) @Perry x 88 Grade: C- Best Value: N/A : N/A Notes: The self-proclaimed 1000 CR goalie Perry x 88 fell to the end of the third round after spending S35 as a RD for the Calgary Hitmen (16-15). If he is a sneaky lethal goalie, the Bruins/Baby Bruins might have a late round steal. BUFFALO SABRES Draft Picks: (4) @N A S T Y x 93 (7) @xT S P 0 0 N (17) @Lagrange x 91 (31) @GalboSchmalbo (35) @Moookiiie (38) @Samsquanch15883 (69) @Raw Skilllz (78) @Defective Lego (79) @Kuzvechkinov Grade: A Best Value: @Lagrange x 91 @GalboSchmalbo @Defective Lego : @Moookiiie @Samsquanch15883 Notes: Grabbing 3 of the top scorers in S35 with 3 picks in the first 17 gave the Sabres a strong draft before we even hit the 20s with Nasty, Tspoon and Lagrange. Pairing 2/3 of the Sags dynamic first line will give the Sabres/Humericans a great line from the jump. Defective Lego gets drafted for the 2nd time and if he plays this time around, getting him at 78 was a giant steal. CALGARY FLAMES N/A CAROLINA HURRICANES Draft Picks: (63) @is_Nefarious Grade: C Best Value: @is_Nefarious : N/A Notes: With their only pick, the Hurricanes snagged is_Nefarious/is Nef with the 63rd pick. Although he had a limited performance on the Xbox side (4-5 26 pts), he dominated PSN CHL (26-5 125 pts +90). Sometimes the PSNers don't work out on the Xbox side but not a bad dart throw at 63. CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS N/A COLORADO AVALANCHE Draft Picks: (41) @SauceMan46 (96) @Gexpy Grade: C+ Best Value: @SauceMan46 : N/A Notes: SauceMan46 found a way to fall down to the Avs at 41 despite having a strong CHL resume. 30-10 124 pts +78 over 1.5 seasons in the C. Would be surprised if he isn't a contributor on the Eagles. COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS Draft Picks: (9) @l l J ROCK l l7 (15) @CAPITALS1921 (20) @Marche x 16 (33) @Trav x 4 (34) @Gibby I63I (66) @CupcakeDusterr (85) @Tones Drop Grade: B- Best Value: @Marche x 16 @Gibby I63I : @l l J ROCK l l7 Notes: Although there is some dispute, it seems like picking J Rock at #9 may be a bit of a stretch despite his strong numbers on the Mem Cup-winning Rangers. Marche x 16 didn't have the best stats but is much better than those stats represent. Gibby 63 is a strong 3s player who may end up being a steal at 34. The Blue Jackets spent their last two picks on a pair of goalies who will be in the wings as 500K Gs if needed for the Jackets or Monsters this season. DALLAS STARS Draft Picks: (43) @Kotkaniemi (45) @VishalDhillon (61) @l2 O M B O Grade: C+ Best Value: N/A : N/A Notes: The Stars used their first pick (43-$1M) for Kotkaniemi who put up some strong numbers in his rookie season (23-16 .840% 2.47 gaa). Vishal had a decent season in 14 games (10-4 42 pts) and I know nothing about Bombo who only has LG PRO from 2016 on his resume. DETROIT RED WINGS Draft Picks: (1) @HNZ Prince (25) @servs x 7 (40) @Dylaniscool61 (44) @SiLLverShoT (88) @McAvoy l73I Grade: B+ Best Value: @Dylaniscool61 : N/A Notes: The Red Wings jumped from the 12th best odds to snag the #1 pick and took the Mem Cup-Winner HNZ Prince. Although there was some debate at #1 with Delta Slays in the wings, the Red Wings selected Prince who went 28-5 with 162 pts (111 assists) +86. Servs x 7 did not have the best stats in his CHL career but plays well at both LW and LD and runs with the Lazy Legends in ESHL. Dylaniscool and Sillvershot are both versus players. McAvoy had an impressive 18 wins in S35 at RD but stood out for only having a +4. EDMONTON OILERS N/A FLORIDA PANTHERS Draft Picks: (32) @Mr Eglaf (36) @CULP3R (37) @x Tremblay (52) @Fakie Assassin (60) @Chad v World (67) @Nash Ix 61 xI (71) @Lo Rail (83) @Datsyuked Grade: B- Best Value: @x Tremblay @Chad v World @Lo Rail : @Datsyuked Notes: The Panthers draft didn't start until the very end of the first round but they then had 8 picks between 32-83 where they collected a balance of fwds and dmen. Tremblay falling to 37 was a bit of a steal for Florida as well as Chad V World at 60 (21-7 29 pts +53) and Lo Rail at 83 who only had 5 games played this season but was 18-4 with 23 pts and +24 last season. LOS ANGELES KINGS Draft Picks: (30) @McLean x l65l (42) @georgeslabanane (50) @Markymike (58) @oooooyeahhhhh (59) @Niskanen x l2l (76) @ToeLagger04 Grade: B Best Value: @georgeslabanane @Markymike : N/A Notes: Similar to the Panthers, the Kings didn't get started until #30 and then had a slew of picks. You won't get a top tier player if you start at 30 but I think the Kings did well with all 6 of their picks. George is a 100 pts player that they sniped at 42 and MarkyMike wasn't a slouch either (20-7 89 pts +64). If Oooyeahh ends up signing up, that could also be a late draft steal. MINNESOTA WILD Draft Picks: (93) @Haramboiiii Grade: D- Best Value: N/A : @Haramboiiii Notes: Maybe the Wild know something the rest of us don't, Haramboiiii has next to no LG stats so only time will tell if this pick pans out. If it doesn't, who cares..it was pick 93. MONTREAL CANADIENS Draft Picks: (28) @DuGu4y27xX Grade: C Best Value: N/A : N/A Notes: After an average S34 (14-14 56 pts), Duguay stepped it up in S35 with a 19 win season and 64 pts. His linemates may have played a significant part for the Barrie Colts but this pick was just fine at 28. NASHVILLE PREDATORS Draft Picks: (16) @TomekNYC (21) @GratedCobra3873 (22) @Zaphiro (24) @A5HLEY O (39) @Knightfr0mhell (47) @Qiono Grade: A- Best Value: @GratedCobra3873 @Knightfr0mhell @Qiono : @Zaphiro Notes: @JC Enterprise comes out of the gates hot in his first draft as an NHL Owner with 6 picks in the first 47. JC took Tomek (drafted for the 2nd time) with his first pick. GratedCobra was one of the top 2-3 Dmen in the draft so getting him at 21 was a steal. Zaphiro seems to be have carried a bit by his dominant CHL roster. Ashley 0 aka MOVESLIKEJAGR has been a bit of a flake the past few seasons but is very good when he shows. Knightsfromhell and Qiono had excellent stats so getting both of them late adds to JC's successful first draft. NEW JERSEY DEVILS Draft Picks: (10) @X27xChuckyx27X (55) @NotoriousNG3 (87) @itsFuggin84 (91) @wT Basic Grade: B Best Value: @X27xChuckyx27X : @itsFuggin84 Notes: Even though he was drafted in the Top 10, word is Chucky has impeccable thumbs and could be the best Dmen in this draft. Notorious is supposed to be a strong 3s player so that could be a nice pick at 55. Even though it was late, I think there were better Dmen available than Fuggin at the end of the 3rd. NEW YORK ISLANDERS Draft Picks: (49) @CLiiNcH (62) @BarrettFITTYcal (70) @Flower x I29I (90) @LedvinKa Grade: B- Best Value: @CLiiNcH @Flower x I29I : N/A Notes: Based on the Islanders managements future plans, Cliinch could be a strong pickup if they return for S37. Cliinch was 23-5 with 95 pts but fell due to taking CHL management this season. Additionally, Flower was regarded as a Top 3 goalie but fell to the Islanders at 70 (500K) and could be useful for both their NHL/AHL team. NEW YORK RANGERS Draft Picks: (5) @WoodyH24 (14) @Jalbert l93l (23) Pick Skipped Grade: C- Best Value: Pick Skipped : N/A Notes: With the 5th pick, the Rangers snagged the first of the trio from the Sags (Woody, Tspoon, Lagrange) and went with the Center who was 21-3 with 116 pts +118 and 57% faceoffs. They then went with Jalbert 93 at 14 who had an incredible season at defense behind the Sags trio despite some early career struggles playing forward. I am VERY excited to see if Pick Skipped ends up in the N or A this season and am excited to see his/her career progress. OTTAWA SENATORS Draft Picks: (73) @cKenbo Grade: C+ Best Value: @cKenbo : N/A Notes: With their only pick in the draft, the Sens snagged a solid forward in the middle of the third. cKenbo was 16-4 with 71 pts and also put up 40 pts in 19 games in S13 of ESHL. PHILADELPHIA FLYERS Draft Picks: (2) @Forbz Eh (82) @cmyl Grade: B Best Value: N/A : N/A Notes: Becoming the second team to skip Delta Slays, the Flyers went with the top Dman in the draft pool in Forbz Eh. Forbz was 31-4 with 75 pts +127 on his mem cup run and was also 5-3 in his 8 appearances ECUing for A/N teams. PITTSBURGH PENGUINS Draft Picks: (64) @l Kucherov x 86 Grade: C Best Value: @l Kucherov x 86 : N/A Notes: He's a bit of a firecracker, but Kucherov had a great season going 18-7 with 96 pts +25 and was a solid pick for the Pens at 64. SAN JOSE SHARKS Draft Picks: (8) @COUG4R HUNTER (89) @ISIoucy Grade: C- Best Value: @ISIoucy : @COUG4R HUNTER Notes: Having limited success in LG prior to S35 and being a relatively average league player before joining the Sags this season, I am a bit skeptical if Cougar Hunter can step up to the plate in the N or even the A this upcoming season despite being the #8 pick. He collected 26 wins and 51 pts with +118 behind the trio of Woody, Lagrange and Tspoon. Slouchy had a solid season (17-5 79 pts) and also had 28 pts in 12 games in the ESHL for S13. SEATTLE THUNDERBIRDS Draft Picks: (56) @Sneakler Grade: D- Best Value: N/A : @Sneakler Notes: With limited success in S35 and taking CHL ownership for S36, I'm not sure why Seattle went with Sneakler at this pick with plenty of talent behind him. ST LOUIS BLUES Draft Picks: (48) @Holtby x I70I (92) @Graysonium (94) @EPICxXcharge9 Grade: C- Best Value: N/A : @Holtby x I70I Notes: At 48, Holtby wasn't a terrible pick but I thought there were better goalies behind him in the draft (Rask #53, Flower #70, etc). Graysonium sounds like he is a little more talented than his draft spot (92) so that may become a steal down the road. TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING N/A TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS Draft Picks: (84) @JesseAgent007 Grade: C+ Best Value: N/A : N/A Notes: Jesse had an above average season with the Steel Heads going 17-10 88 pts +36 and 57% faceoffs in reg season. Centers are always at a premium so this is a good find late in the draft. VANCOUVER CANUCKS Draft Picks: (6) @ZUKROH (74) @TBagSandwiches (86) @MADARA x UCHIWA Grade: C+ Best Value: @MADARA x UCHIWA : N/A Notes: One of the many Rangers selected in the first round, ZUKROH had a great season going 28-5 144 pts +90 but also played with some great players so we will see how he pans out in the N. MADARA UCHIWA had a great S35 going 17-12 with 96 pts +14 and probably could have gone much higher than 86. VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS Draft Picks: (3) @Delta sLays (11) @l A7eX l (12) @Bill Crosby I87 (27) @killer baretQC1 (57) @OG Mr ProdiGy (75) @Seifert35 Grade: A- Best Value: @Delta sLays @Seifert35 : @Bill Crosby I87 Notes: With the World (chatbox) expecting Delta Slays as the obvious number 1 pick, Vegas was able to snake away getting Delta who fell to them at 3. The former owner of the mem cup Kitchiner Rangers only ended up leaving the draft with 1 former play ( @l A7eX l ) despite the amount of Rangers picked in Rd 1. Bill Crosby was a solid prospect in this draft but 12 definitely feels like a reach. At 75, Seifert35 should be at least a valuable contributor to the Chicago Wolves coming off of two solid seasons in the C. WASHINGTON CAPITALS Draft Picks: (13) @l Sleatz X 19 l (46) @l GOSLING l (54) @Fontnn (80) @BriCaps70 Grade: B- Best Value: @l GOSLING l : @BriCaps70 Notes: The Capitals selected a forward in Sleatz who could have slipped into the Top 10 after posting a 21-6 96 pt +60 season on a solid Silvertips team. Gosling was 17-12 with 94 pts and was solid value with the 46 pick. WINNIPEG JETS Draft Picks: (18) @aimNclu7ch (26) @TimmySab x 7 (53) @x Rask x 40 Grade: B Best Value: @TimmySab x 7 : N/A Notes: Winnipeg only had 3 picks and used them wisely. Another one of the Rangers many prospects, aimNclu7ch could be a shoe in for AHL at minimum as long as he signs up. Timmy Sab has been around for a long time but only clocked a handful of games between S6-34. In S35, he exploded for 23 wins with 111 pts and +63 and surprisingly fell to pick 26. Rask, another Ranger, had a solid season during the mem cup run and was a top 5 goalie in the draft. At $750K, he is a valuable piece for the Jets and the Meese. DRAFT RANKINGS 1. (A) 2. (A-) 3. Damn... Buffalo won the draft two seasons in a row. Hopefully they'll actually be right this time around @BlueLineKing7
