I don't know who to direct this to, because I don't know who's "in charge" of this site (Tris10?, XBoxJon?, Destroyer?), so I'll just post it here.

I'm trying to find someone interested in using the Links/XSN Score Extractor that I developed a few weeks ago. You might have heard about in the the Xbox.com forums. It's the program that "scrapes" score data from the XSN web site for Links stroke tournaments. At first I was trying to make this thing really flexible so it could be used by all league administrators. Since I haven't had any takers, I'm willing to tailor it to the needs of whoever wants to use it.

I love this site...but I hate entering my scores in manually. I know that it's just the nature of the beast, but it doesn't have to be. I think this program will allow you to use XSN to supplement your Leagues and make it seamless for your users.

I think this thing could work well for your site. What database platform are you using? If given the db structure, I could even write the code to populate your database. I could set it up to run every x hours on the tournaments you specify.

I just hate the idea of my work being for nothing.

Check out the sample output I just got when I ran the program on LG S1 T2. This all took about 2 minutes to compile.

Yeah, this is cool. I remember your screen scraper post on the XBox.com forums. This would work well for us I think and eliminate the need for people to enter their own scores.

Can it be set to grab the scores automatically a certain amount of times throughout the day? Or would have to be run manually by someone each time.

 

I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about but it sure sounds cool!

It makes it so that they can manually grab the scores off of XSN, well not they but the script can, that way none of us have to insert it at LG. Well ast least thats how I understand it.

Yeah, we were just laughing at the propeller head chater.

But are admittedly impressed at their ability to do the things they do behind the scenes to make this one of the most awesome gaming sites available.
