Article III, 4.1 : Re-signs Each season in the NHL, management and Owners are eligible to offer two re-signs to a Player on their roster with an expiring contract. If either of the two resigns are unused, the NHL team is eligible to issue a maximum of two additional contract years(if both resigns are not used) after bidding. NHL managers must send their resign request via the Front Office unless otherwise instructed to do differently by the League's Staff. Player must accept the official resign offer in order to be considered resigned. A Player who accepts a re-sign will have their current salary increased by predetermined amounts outlined within the contract system. Current resign amounts: Player's salary: $1,750,000 - $3,000,000: a $500,000 increase No way you give up a 2.25M contract to take mgmt, wouldnt be a smart play for you personally or your current team thats in the cup mainly bc of your contract (would be good for the league though) Id recommend resigning, give yourself another chance at winning a cup bc your best chances come when you or your teammates are on elite contracts.
