it's out now.... http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/11758/NBA-2K7-Demo-Available-Now-on-Xbox-Live-Marketplace/
It is a 4 min. quarter. My impressions of the demo: - The hail mary pass is much harder to pull off now, heck even short passes are - which is a great improvement over last year. - Graphics dont look all that much better than 2K6. I am a Standard TV user, but man those HD vids on gametrailers looked amazing. Where are those graphics? - Is it just me or do the player movements seem kind of slower than last year? Not enough to judge the game, but its still a definite rental.
Well, I just played the demo and here are my impressions: + From the controls I played with it seems like it will be a fairly easy game to get the hang of (I have never owned an NBA game) + Passing seems to be more difficult, making D easier to play - Is this next-gen? Graphics look like normal Xbox with a slight boost. - I still think 60 dollars is too much for these games.
I meant where is the love for us standard TV users? I know HD is the best picture you can get but that doesnt mean us cheap asses deserve Xbox quality.
The Demo does play very well. Supposedly is not the latest built of the game but it's only a Demo. + Gameplay-I should be getting a lot of negative feedback this year from cheesers that can't run around the paint in exb mode online. There are so many other factors that prevent the same stuff that happened last year from happening online/offline play. I truly believe that this year it's all up to the player to stop the other player. + Passing - Not totally fixed but now I have the option to bounce pass or lob pass the ball. I've been pulling off so sick alleys w/ jay williams to D. Wade. + Post up Game - Feels much smoother then last year. Dirk plays the post like he does in real life...20% power 80% finesse moves. They even have his unique drive to layup move. + Sig Shots - I hate being on the freethrow line with Shaq lol. This year you really have to enjoy the game and know how the players shoot because everyone has a different release point. + On the fly subbing, play setups, team setup. + No cutscenes. - Graphics equal to last year. Sweat system improved...you'll need HDTV for the arenas that are close to the ones in real life. - Commentar is still subpar - Demo still shows so blatant traveling calls that don't get called like last year. - Not out yet.
to be honest, I played very quickly this morning before work and I was very impressed with the game. I actually think they finally listened to us, for the longest time I wanted on the fly subs and now we finally got it. the game play seems pretty smooth and the graphics are better and cleaner than last year.. so far I say nice job with this game.. its finally nice to see ( huge improvements from 2k5)
Wow the dunking is alot harder this year....and i love it. Thats how it should be, make dunks how they should be--- exciting just like in real games. It gets old when you can do dunk after dunk after dunk at will and nobody can stop it like last year. On the ball defense is easier I love the signature shots, great idea. I love the on the fly subs and game sliders.---also a great idea. I am pretty excited for this release---it seems as if 2k7 really patched up alot of the big things---mainly keeping the game sim.
Some negative things I have noticed tghough is that it seems really easy to draw fouls on offense and that could be frustrating for playing defense. Blocking shots is alot harder. I also noticed the passing still isnt there, often times you will see horrible passes thrown over the hedd for no reason at all, often times the player will catch the ball in a jump-stop on a fastbreak which makes zero sense. I like the player contact now, but it still seems a little glitchy sometimes.
