well that would certainly be innovative ( something EA does very well ) and also something that has never been done in a sports game before.... hmmmm
i am still hopeing it is a full 30 team online dynasty with salary cap and fa's and draft and all the crap.. that would be unreal for a league in lg
podcast http://download.gamevideos.com/Podcasts/Sportsanomaly/061108.mp3 Littman interview Starts around 43 Minutes Some of the stuff thats talked about - Improved the lack of 5-hole goals - Feedback was that jump between Pro and All-Star was too big so they are tweaking that - New checking system is natural, did not want it to be like NHL 2005's check fest - Online Leagues will have Trades, Playoffs - Goal for online eventually (meaning not in this year's game but in the future) will be full Online Dynasties with Coaches and GM's (I assume he means player controlled coaches and player controlled GMs) - There will be a classic team for all-time greats of a certain organization
BFD. 2K has had a ton of classic teams since day 1. the best part was the real names were in the game, so if you changed them, the announcers would say their names. the worst part was having to re-do the team names every year when the new game came out. i used to play with the classic NYI team all the time. EA needs to get with the program here. waaaaaay behind.
spectator mode would be pretty wild considering players might think twice before doing cheese as their GM might be watching. But it would sure be cool especially in the playoffs to watch your team play instead of hitting refresh or watching the gamertag to see the score
In order for that to happen, my team would have to make the playoffs SP. lol Here's hoping for season 4, if I stick around. lol
The real question should be how many spectators before the game causes everyone to drop? Don't forget before Virtua Tennis 3, both Table Tennis and Project Gotham Racing had spectator modes. murph: I vaguely remember reading somewhere when you create a character (I guess for be a pro mode) that one of the options you select is how the announcer says your name. So maybe there is some pronunciation and you can create your own Islanders team of greats, but you would be a typical Isles fan living in the past.
it'll definitely be some type of fantasy draft, whether through online leagues (like 09 Madden) or just simply through dynasty mode.
This is true since spectators are just watching, therefore they are only downloading what is being displayed, and there are no button presses coming from them because they are just watching and not using the joysticks or "interacting", so nothing to upload to the EA Servers. Theoretically they should not lag, but if the game still has bugs that causes the actual players to have problems, the spectators most definitely will have problems as well. If it is spectator mode, there should be a way for us to interact with the game somehow, either by pressing a button and having the stadium start cheering for the home team, or booing for the other team's goals (similar to the boo button for all bubble hockey games).
