The media team will be monitoring NHL 17 each week as EA releases new information or videos leading up to the Beta and then until release date. We will be working with the game changers and EA to relay information and give feedback.

Today they release a new video with more explanations of the changes along with a little bit of gameplay footage

The NHL irl is moving towards speed, skill, and finesse. Shockingly enough you see these types of teams win the Cup year after year. Yet HERE WE ARE focusing on tips, turds, random bounces and other horseshit like 41 different goalie stances. NHL Go 17 looking lit af

I can already see the tie up being horse shit and end up not using it and it'll be 16 all over again except my goalie will have more stances and I'll pick up pucks more fluently. woooo

The good news is that it looks like they really upgraded the dynamic cloth technology.

 

Just like in 15 where the tie-up happens and the side that's exposed on whatever wing get's the bs screen goal. Even with the goalie reading the play and being in position, just to do that weird goalie screen animation and have it trickle in.

I hope you brought your lube goalies.

 

I don't trust EA to fix the goalie system, espcially since NHL 16 was "All new" but was slightly different from 14 except broken in every way imaginable. It'll look great to be a goalie until it hits the disc tray

 

Knowing EA's track record with these things, the tie ups in front of the net are going to ruin life for D-men. I can just imagine how often we're going to get stuck in shitty tie up animations as we get walked or we tie up a guy just for him to tip the puck through our goalie who would have made the save if he was only using goalie stance 5, 17, 19, 22, 29, 34, and 40.

 

If there's a new excuse to make for getting coned then I'm all for it

Hopefully puck pick ups and skating really are improved, that would go a long way towards improving the speed of the game and rewarding skill a bit more.

Tie-ups are annoying and kind of useless, should just bring back those small bumps dmen could use in front of the net to clear forwards out of the crease.

Goalie stances will have no affect on save animations.
