Everybody is always hyped for the new NHL game but skeptical if the game is really gonna be any different from the previous games. From the looks of it NHL 20 might be a banger but what do you think?
I'm picturing NHL19 without LT and thinking I wouldn't even want to play it. Can't beat anyone one on one without it in 19. Ideally you'd have no LT and lots of ways to beat people but that hasn't been the case recently.
I wish I could be optimistic, but they kept tuning NHL 19 later after the release than ever before and we still ended up with a very flawed game. And while they may have rolled back some changes that weren't good, the fact that it had to happen in the first place is depressing. It speaks volumes about how they handle feedback and test changes before releasing tuners/patches.
Well that's what I mean. They would have to fix a lot of things so people wouldn't have to resort to unrealistic LT bullshit just to get speed and beat a defender. Sadly, the people at EA are partially brain dead and it will probably never happen.
Reduce poke check accuracy. The individual with the puck can anticipate how to protect puck or where the defender will poke check. Punish players who reach on a poke check and lose speed. Gives offensive skater privilege of beating defender. Stop giving defenseman top speed during recovery on break aways. If defender has speed build then whatever. But NO DD should catch up to dangler/playmaker/sniper builds
Something that maybe someone has thought of but may have not addressed it. Analog stick should be able to give u true speed changes. Hockey can be both slow and fast. Analog stick does not give u change in desired speed. When u click in certain direction when doing a cut it’s generally accelerating at the same time. Timing is everything in hockey. From poke checks. Going for hits. Passes into open spaces or backdoor passes. Cuts should be considered as well. Yes u can skate slower if u literally tap the analog stick in a particular direction. Otherwise he will accelerate. Goalies should have anticipation privileges. Where their not stuck in an animation. They see a play happening they should be able to move over and cut down the angle
You think poke checks are the issue? They are literally in the best spot they've ever been. Effective when they should be and a good chance to have a penalty otherwise. Need to do the same thing to stick checks. I agree on people catching up though. This iteration of the game wouldn't work without LT. But tune down LT and the bumps a bit and it's in a good place. Bumps from behind shouldn't work, or at the very least shouldn't make the puck carrier lose possession.
