I'm sure someone has posted a related topic about this...

...but why is the Australian Open named the Oceanis Whatever???

Is the name copyrighted? What happened here?

It seems kind of weird. The US Open is also named the Americas Championship.

Were the developers unable to license the names of the grand slams?

Yeah, the Australian Open and all the other names have been tooken by other games. Microids makes the Tennis Master Series* games, and someone else makes the US Open and Roland Garros games, and Im sure Europe, and Australia has someone that makes Wimbledon and the Aussie Open for them.

So in short, its a license thing.

*But for some reason, Indian Wells, The Nasdaq 100, and the Cinncinatti court are all the real Tennis Master Series events. So that part is weird.
