Back in the day when I used to play Enemy Territory, we had a literal betting site where we could gamble forum currency on competitive ET games. I believe it was called gamestv. I think opening odds were systematically generated but then adjusted by betting totals as well.

Wouldn't that be a brilliant addition to LG?

I VERY strongly agree that we are seeing more of the rampant LG wide issue of "okay" players taking up free contracts here this season.

Until the LG brass address this issue we will always have teams that are not properly constructed.

Teams with management that also have thumbs will always have a distinct advantage because they are tucking lots of cap into those management positions.

I get it, we need capable, smart team leadership... but many people with the capacity to run a team are not the best thumbs to stick into a free contract.

 

I was thinking about that as well. Would increase the interest in the games. Also, why not make it real currency when gambling becomes legal everywhere?

 

Do you understand the amount of requirements needed for a website to do that? Its not just a simple “plug in your credit card number and do some betting”. You have to prove state residency and age requirement which means people submitting driver’s licenses and Tris having to confirm they are eligible. You would also need a legal team for any issues regarding payments, people using fake IDs to start betting, and any other. This is a virtual hockey website lol

 

Not to mention the amount of people that will end up throwing games lmao

 

Probably, I think a fake currency would be fun though.
