Official Season 1 Info, Dates, Schedule & Rule

Official Season 1 In

Please take the time to read the entire thread, every word, before replying. After you are done reading please post that you have read and understand everything that is covered below.


Schedule and weekly format
Ok, Season 1 will be starting this coming Sunday, September 21. The format will be 2 games per week, plus everyone will have one week with 1 game, since every NFL team gets a bye week.

Playing Ahead of schedule
You will not be able to skip games, seeing as how you only have 2 to play each week this shouldn't be a problem. All un-played games at the end of the week will result in a forfeit (loss) for both teams, this way both players will try harder to get in contact with each other. To summarize:

- Can't skip weeks, can't play ahead in the schedule even if you are caught up, need to get your 2 games in during the 7 day period, and after the 7 days, you may play your next week's opponents.

- Not playing a game results in a forfeit (loss) for both teams.

Posting scores
As for using the calculator and scoreboard, the winning team ALWAYS enters the score. There will be NO TOLERANCE for cheating, leaving the game before the stats page is up, cursing, or lewdness. No cheating, quitting, plug pulling, intentional pausing, etc... just play the game straight and how it's meant to be. Please play cleanly and have some fun. No sore losers! And most importantly, do NOT exit, disconnect, turn off your Xbox, etc until the game is 100% complete and you are given access to the stats. There will be no tolerance for people exiting the game before the winner has a chance to get the stats. After you see the exit option on the screen, you can exit, but do NOT do it before then.

Missed Games
There will be no tolerance for missed games. If the game is missed it will result in a loss for both teams. If for some reason you know that you will be out of town and unable to play a game let one of the commissioners know and they will make necessary arrangements. We will also be posting a vacation thread for those that may be going on vacation please post and let us know.

- 5 minute quarters

- All-Pro difficulty

- Weather: Random

- Time: Random

- Ranked: Yes

- Sliders: default (middle)

- Camera: default, no pass zoom out.

- Playbooks: any "real" playbook may be used, even if it's not your own team's. However, you may not use custom playbooks in this league as they are known to cause divergence issues.

Playoffs will begin Nov. 23rd, playoff format and qualification is exactly like the NFL (division winners + 2 wild cards per conference, top 2 seeds in each conference gets a 1st round bye). We will use the real NFL playoff tiebreakers if necessary.


Conduct, Sportsmanship, Misc.
I don't think I need to tell you guys that vulgarity, name calling, cheating, quitting a game, disconnecting intentionally, shutting off your XBox, Running up the the score on a blowout,etc. etc. is not allowed. Reports of such conduct will result in a quick removal of your league membership. Harmless trash talking is one thing, but please respect your opponent and treat them as you would want to be treated.

Lag. We all have broadband, and this game doesn't seem to be a bandwidth hog at all. However, if you do not have 100% access to your broadband connection, I would ask that you do not play the game until you can be assured of that. That means, if your wife, brother, parents, child, sister, etc might get on the computer and start checking email or using AIM, or browsing the net, you should reschedule your game until the broadband is all yours. It should also be said that turning off ALL internet applications is vital to a smooth online experience. If you leave MSN Messenger, AIM, ICQ, Trillian, Outlook Express, your browser, etc running on your computer, it can and will cause lag (or at least make voice chat very choppy). Please turn this stuff off before you play your games!

Voice chat. It is an official requirement that ever league member have an operational XBL communicator and wear their headset the entire time while playing league games. This is not a suggestion, it is a rule and applies to all leaguegaming leagues and events. If not just to chat with your fellow gamer, at a minimum you need it to talk and hear each other if something should come up (ie. phone call, door bell, bathroom break, etc). The voice chat feature is what makes these games great, and it helps build comradery with fellow members. So please use it and get to know each other.

Instant Messengers. Please try and make yourself available on AIM, MSN, ICQ, etc and add all of the league members to your buddy lists. Most of use one or all of these chat clients and it is our primary tool for getting our games scheduled, lined up and started. You can use the forum and PM's of course, but the chat clients are "instant" of course.


Divergence
OK with the Divergence issue. We have put our heads together long and hard and have come up with this.

1. If the game gets Diverged (rare but happens) the game must be replayed. no ifs, ands, or buts.

2. You will need to report the Diverged game to one of the commisioners of the league in a pm or in on of their instant messengers.
