I have to give it up to Iraq, they are 1 win away from a medal, being in the semi-finals, even if they lose this next game, they can still win the last game to place 3rd therefore receiving bronze medals.

Whether you like or hate Iraq, and whether you care for the sport of soccer much or not, you have to give it up to them. Especially after their terrorized years in the olympics by the Hussain family.

    Hussein

Normally, I'd let this slide, but you seem to have a thing about correcting everyone else's spelling ;)

I apologize. But my point was I'm sick of that stuff too since we all make them and was trying to make a point. However, by trying to quell the situation, I also contributed to it.

I normally don't do this stuff as many know. However, I do apologize :?

i give this credit to all the Iraqi Soccer Team. i guess they dont have the pressure to win thier games, they just there to enjoy it. during the reign of saddam, they were beaten and have them hung upside down and receive a whack (made of leather stick) right on the bottom of their feet.

i guess this is one good aspect for having them "liberated" from a dictator's reign of terror.

i hope they win all the way to a GOLD Medal...... im sure this will be a great news and uplift for all the people of Iraq.

Yeah, they are already cheering and everything out in the streets.

When Saddam's son was in charge of the Olympic Committee, they had a torture chamber down in the basement. If the atheletes did not win in their contests, which they rarely did win, they would have worst than their toes smacked with a leather stick done to them. Most of them got fingers or toes cut off, some got eyes poked out, and sometimes they were slowly tortured, eventuallly dieing. There were also some that were set on fire, with some having fingernails burnt. I remember seeing a picture that was real, of an Iraqi Olympian having his tongue burnt.

Maybe in his under 30 soccer league  But if you want a sport that seems to be fixed, I should nominate boxing for a gold medal in that category.

Sometimes a guy beats the living shit out of another guy, yet he still loses the fight, or it ends up in a draw? , sounds fair to me.

Yeah that is true. I am starting to think some of the X-Games are fixed as well. What about the lingerie bowl last year? Now that was fixed. They were driving down the field about to score and the game ended early lol.
