Frank J. Selke Trophy​

The Frank J. Selke Trophy is awarded annually to the National Hockey League forward who demonstrates the most skill in the defensive component of the game. Considering the nature of our league, it will almost always be the case that players deserving of nomination for the Selke will produce at an above average level offensively, however, offensive production specifically should not be a factor in determining who is more deserving of the award. All of the following must be considered when determining those who should be nominated: Production in Relation to Peers, Linemates, Strength of Schedule, and Individual Stats.

The format for calculating this seasons awards will be as follows:

Committee Voting - 1 vote per member (total of 6)
Manager Voting - All owners vote being segregated by conference (total of 2)
Community Voting - 1 vote

Finalists will be awarded points for each voting group:
1st - 4 points
2nd - 2 points
3rd - 1 point

Points will then be calculated and winners determined.

I’m seriously confused on how people arent voting Tmills…?

 

I must be lost cause I’m looking for the Selke thread but mjbenny isn’t an option? He’s the best defensive forward in the league lol

 

Played rw for like 3/4's of the season

 

Not too sure why this is a problem, just name it the best defensive center if that’s the excuse for why he isn’t a nominee over any of these guys

 

A winger irl hasn't won the Selke since 2003. Unless they're absolutely lapping the field in almost all defensive categories, it's going to be a center's award. Especially in this game it's almost irrelevant if you're elite defensively on RW if you don't have a good C in the middle
