S19 Norris Candidates

With the season being over I think it's safe to say that it'll be between @El Gandhii , @Trobby Trobs , [MENTION=3964]x 0dieeee[/MENTION] and myself. I believe whoever wins it will be well deserving.

The 50 in S19 wouldn't of been possible without you playing 4th forward against me.

 

If puzzle played with odie and ghandii and trobby all the time his stats would be incredible too.... Lol try doing it with an ecu for the first three weeks we were missing two dmen for three weeks and he still gets on errrybodies list. Everyone here says vote for my buddy he played great. Blah blah blah. Collectively i think almost everyone agrees trobby and puzz should be two of the top three nominees. I mean... Keso was nominated right? He played fwd.... at defence, Why not trobby. At least he played some defence. Puzzl has been a norris finalist almost every season. There is a reason for that and its a shame he never wins... He has the most finalist placements ever probably. Foote and ghandii both had great seasons too though. Itll be interesting to see this seasons finalists

I literally played defensively the whole season with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 games when I played like an asshole because it was boring. Reason why I have so many points is because in the offensive zone I only passed the puck when I know I set someone up for a goal.

Can confirm. While Trobby was probably average at best defensively in his own zone, he at least tried to play defense. His point production speaks for itself because he's the most offensively talented player who played D this season. Of my 19 goals this season I'd be willing to bet that 10 of them were on assists or deflections from Trobby running a give and go faceoff play in the ozone. Not to mention the countless number of goals he set up on feeds to the wingers breaking from the corners. ( [MENTION=8353]TheTightSpliff[/MENTION] can confirm).

Regardless, as me and Trobby both said, our most deserving dman this season is probably Gandhi.

Boz is just such an unselfish guy. Why take an empty net, when you can just slide it over to your winger for a tap in? Because, that's why.


Just to add to what's already been said. In order of who I played with the most-least.


Trobby played solid D, and made something happen every time he touched the puck in the offensive zone, obviously put up beastly numbers. Avoiding forecheckers is a strength.

Gandhi put up a great record. Smart player that can calm things down. Capable of making plays with an impressive point total as well.

Odiee much like Ghandi, is just solid getting out of the zone. Able to carry the puck up the ice, and dish it just as well. Very good at making the right decision, along with good puck protection.

Norris/Selke seems to be going to the best defensive player/position + offensive impact (in real life). So with that template, I'd probably pick Trobby, but I'm not totally sold that defensive dmen can't be just as valuable.

I could get the Selke for those games... but naw seriously that Lady Byng is mine, I'm softer than MSL.
