Does anyone see a problem with the Xbox 360's tendancy to break? I know of several people that have had thiers replaced atleast once free of charge. There are threads on every message board about it. The PS3 seems a lot less likely to break down. Is microsoft taking it in the ass on the xbox? Does it even matter if they are? Just wondering what people think about it.
I'm on box #4. It is very annoying as my original Xbox has lasted me since 2001 (it still works to this day). I'm not sure why Microsoft dropped the ball on the 360.
There is no question there is something seriously wrong with the (first gen) of the xbox 360's and its ability to crash. I can think of more guys who picked up a launch system that have had it die then who still have their's working now
I have Day 1 Xbox 360 and it's working fine. I have a tendancy to leave it on even when I'm not playing it and have never had any issues. Now getting my 360 and computer to talk to each other is an entirely different story. I can't seem to stream music or pictures without disabling my firewall, even though my 360 has "approved" access. Guh.
I also still have my launch day xbox 360 although i probably use it alot less then most people here. Hope i didnt just jinx myself!
My launch box is still running strong. My brother's died about a month ago though. Media Center PC and my Xbox get along fine. I stream cable to my TV from my PC's TV tuner card no problem.
