what the situation with throwing balls here? cuz i just played someone who thew the crazy balls and it hard to tell with the camera angle. so what is the rule here?
Re: thriwing balls I think he means he over did it. By throwing alo of unhittable balls. Like off the plate or at the umpires head
Re: thriwing balls yea that what i mean. like for me the way i pitch the only time i throw balls is if i miss cue the pitch break but this person was going all over the place and it seem he only did it when he was up but when we was tied it didnt happen
It is basically a gentelman's rule about the balls. But if it gets out of hand, contact MGM or GMB(vacation)
balls are hard too judge with the new pitching system. sometimes u don't want to throw a ball but you fool up on ur delivery (happens to me ALL the time..lol...it'll come with practise i guess) with that being said i do not throw every pitch over the plate. half the skill of this game is knowing what pitch to hit and what pitch to let go. too many balls??...just don't swing...its all in the hitter's hands if u ask me. eventually the pitcher will have to pitch to you. he will have to give u something to hit. as they do in real baseball...pick your spots, see what ur opponents tendencies are. you will get your hits. goood luck all. steve :hwas: :btor:
I wouldnt have a problem with balls (I didnt in MVP) if the game allowed you to view the pitch realistically. The speed/offspeed seems fair but thats only half of it. I have seen guys throw straight strikes but make me look stupid. (the speed/offspeed factor) That being said, the speed minus not being able to see trajectory from the release (due to camera angle) is why I feel balls should not be used as a weapon but more of a mistake (off failure to judge breakpoint by pitcher) Just my 2 cents.
i agree to a certain extent...but throwing everything over the plate with just a speed change on the pitches is not very realistic and i thought realistic is what we are going for here. afterall we are the "minor league" for the sim league...am i right?:hwas: :btor:
Ya....Find another avy. You pm'ed me asking if you could use it and I said you could use it anywhere but here....You must have thought I wasn't serious.
The above statement summed it up PERFECTLY for me, I throw 90 - 95% stikes because the offspeed stuff is gold and you can get hitter to hit lazy fly balls or DP grounders. I have lost more than my share by using this method and I don't care since I have won my share by using this method as well. The only time I throw balls is if I miss AIM retical , you can work an opponent over enough throwing K's . I pitch how I pitch and my opponent can pitch how he sees fit , I am in it leagues for fun. did you get my PM? I wanna slum it too
I throw all strikes and am at the top usually in K's thrown. I will throw balls if the other person does but I'll start off with all strikes and then play it from ear.
I throw probably 97% strikes, but the ever popular inside change isn't always a mistake. Is it possible to change the batting view per player like it is in NHL?
Grrr, i wish we could have standard type thing between games you know. and if they could fix the fielding I would be happy playing without cutscenes to avoid freezes till next seasons game.
i agree that its still a video game and u gotta throw strikes but i fail to see the skill in just swinging at every pitch, knowing it will be over the plate. i rather try and figure out my opponents, makes it harder. with everything over the plate the scores get a little out of hand once u get the timing of the pitcher down. especially playing one of the more skilled teams like the yankees/mets/cardinals...all these teams with a smoking lineup top to bottom. there is no skill in swinging at every pitch. everyone i have played so far except for the my first opponent (detroit) has thrown balls (i beat the first team 11-2 by the way...everything was over the plate) i have no problem with it...i rather take the challenge of trying to figure out my opponent....just my opinion though....we are all entitled to one. good luck to all :hwas: :btor:
