Who Should Make The Playoffs?

With the recent elimination of a 100 point team (Charotte Checkers) I ask you what is your preference as to who should make the playoffs (not basing your decision off of the real life seeding or the fact that LG is attempting to follow the real life AHL system) just your preference

Feel free to comment your answer and why you believe it should be this way.

PS. Congrats Providence on the Presidents and goodluck to all in the playoffs!

 

BOG’s have already stated that this format is based off the real AHL format (which the real AHL did to accommodate for new teams a few years ago - something we don’t have to worry about) and that they don’t plan on changing it unless the real AHL changes it unfortunately.

 

They can keep the actual format... But maybe swap a couple teams for next season.
They stay pretty much the same with contracts and ownership.

Same thing happened to me last season with Hershey. We had 100ish points and failed to make the playoff by 1 point.

I'm cursed.

Yup I know Bolts, I explained in my post that this is based on your preference! Not the real life AHL rules or the fact our league follows those rules. Just what you’d prefer

Pacific had 5 100 point teams last season and San Diego or San Antonio didn't get in, too early and cant remember right now.

Honestly I don't know why we stick with the playoff format how it is in the NHL. Top 3 2 wild cards, I get its "real league sim" but I don't think many, if any people would complain about changing the format over. Last season 99pt SD missed playoffs too. There will always be stacked divisions. It feels like teams can get punished for being in the wrong division at the wrong time.

That's just my personal opinion, no biased because I was on the Charlotte team lol. I've felt this way for a long ass time.

 

I agree let's keep it "real". So I guess we aren't gonna do random assignments anymore? They don't have that in real life. Make it competitive but keep it fair, change it to top 3 with 2 WC.

San Antonio was shit last season.

 

I think the 3 in + 2 WC is the best to keep the playoffs as competitive and entertaining for everyone. Watching a 100 pt team miss for a barely positive 80 point team is just weird lol

 

Well too be fair, NHL/AHL in real life doesn’t have to worry about their players showing up for games like we do; so we need the RA’s to actually finish our seasons lol but I get ur point
