Why is my wired mic causing lag jumps?

Just looking to see if anyone else has this problem. No matter what game I play, when I have my wired microphone plugged into my controller, voices in party chat lag, my audio cuts out and there are some noticeable skips in my gameplay.

I thought it was the headset so I got a new one, same problem. I thought it was the controller, not that either. When I play without a mic plugged in this problem does not exist.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening when it never used to happen and how to be able to use a mic again without this lag?

 

Have you tried setting it to Wumbo?

Hmm that is really messed up @BroadwayCJ97 i did hear tho mics that are plugged straight in the controller does cause a bit of delay dont know if that is true tho

 

Do you charge your PS4 Controller while you play? Charging your controller while using your headset could cause issues.

 

No I charge my mic overnight

 

I heard the opposite that it was wireless mics did it.

 

Put it in rice maybe? idk

 

which mic do u have? i use a wired mic thru the controller and never have seen any issues. u got any clips?

 

Maybe change out the ear muffs ?
