    World Cup of Hockey

    The World Cup of Hockey is for players in the AHL and ECHL players who finished S46 on an active AHL or ECHL Roster on a team out of playoffs after Round 1. Restricted Veterans are also eligible for World Cup of Hockey!

    Timeline

    • Sign-ups open: Saturday December 30th, 2023
    • Owners Announced by: Thursday January 18th, 2024
    • Draft: Friday January 19th, 2024
    • Round Robin play Week 1 – January 21st, 22nd, 23rd
    • Week 2 – January 28th, 29th, 30th
    • Playoffs - Round One – February 4th, 5th, 6th
    • Playoffs - Round Two – February 12th, 13th, 14th
    • Finals – February 18th, 19th, 20th


    Format

    • There will be 14 teams.
    • Each Team will have 1 Owner, 1 GM, and 1 AGM.
    • Each team will be required to draft 14 Players
    • Each team is required to carry 9 Forwards 6 Defensemen and 2 Goalies.
    • Games times are the same as the NHL, AHL, ECHL times of 9:00pm, 9:35pm, 10:10pm ET
    • Playoff game times are: Sun-Mon-Tues - 2-2-3 format
    • Any situation not covered by this document or the LGHL Constitution will be reviewed and adjudicated by IHL Staff
    • The playoffs will be a best of 7.
