Jesus Christ Girgs, all you have to do is give 3/5th of a HJ to pay for Tris' share. You don't even need to finish the job like you normally would.
I get it, you dont think you can compete without your heart and soul, VaPoRiZ. Run away because he isnt carrying you anymore.
Stop being a basket case. Also, I think everyone would appreciate if you came up with some new material.
Breakdown: 16 teams of 8 players equals $80/team=$1,280 $1,280 - 33% =$857.60 $857.60 is the prize pool. Assuming 8 man roster 1st place =$400 or $50/person 2nd place =$250 or $31.25/person 3rd place =$127.60 or $15.95/person 4th place = $80 or $10/person Assuming 6 man roster 1st place =$400 or $66.67/person 2nd place =$250 or $41.67/person 3rd place =$127.60 or $21.26/person 4th place = $80 or $13.33/person ($.02 left over) So basically if saying that a minimum of $50/player for playing a game you play every day is not worth your time, you sound like a complete idiot. If you don't want to let Tris take 33% for programming and building the site to hold tournaments, I say go build your own and let people play in it for free. Knowing Tris, It's most likely a 1-time start up fee which could drop down to 10% for future tournaments since the programmings already built into the site after the initial tourny. My opinion, take it for what its worth.
I think Girgs is less concerned about Tris's cut than he is to his return cut being shared, making it more not worth his investment. The thing he doesn't understand is that it will be smaller at first, giving Tris less return for a large investment of time and work to create what is needed. He shouldn't have to wait until after the fact, when this grows to get his return. By that time the work is done and if it doesn't grow he doesn't get his fair value of the time and labor he put in. The thing that concerns me more is how anyone would or could be convinced to pay in advance and join prior to set rules, standards and conditions of how the money is being split up, used & can be won. Tris could be getting 33% but after the fact cost could be broken down to go other places, like coordination fees or other things that have not been stated or guaranteed. Quite frankly I'm shocked how blindly people are going into this without hard lines ot how the money is being spread out and if you will be winning more than $1 over your original investment, for all you know. I've been way too busy to discuss my opinions about things but I would have assumed the information would have been released and feed back considered and possibly adjusted based on majority's concerns. I'd be willing to be a part of a team or even pay for my whole team I put together, knowing my chances would be slim early or first couple of seasons but the fact of no solid information, and things want to be started "around March 23rd" clearly tells me this is way to unorganized and professionally put together for what it is, I've lost all interest @ this time.
Ozzy, the only people who have "Bought-In" right now are me and Tino, and I was doing it to test the system. I dont expect anyone to buy-in until the full information is released. As of now the projected start is near the end of March, March 23rd would be ideal. As of right now I'd guess we'll end up with 16 or so teams. I can tell you that if we end up with less than 24 the top 4 will be the ones winning money (4th would gain their money back). I will post something tonight with absolutely everything that we do know and projections (similar to Williams post) of how money will be paid out.
It has nothing to do with how much money whoever ends up winning the tournament gets. It's the outrageous amount of money Tris is getting.
Then I guess you really don't know how much money it cost for a professional to do this type of work. He may do the site and league stuff on the side for fun and our benefits as a side hobby and experiments but once his time is being invested in something others are making money from I don't think anyone blames him for charging for his work. You do understand that there are legal issues, site fees for being able to handle more traffic loads and data besides just creating and maintaining programs developed for this? Tris is far from a selfish greedy person trying to make money off of others, his years creating, maintaining and evolving this site without asking for donations, having adds (until this season), etc. is proof of that.
Why do people keep responding to Girgs? It's his opinion to think what he wants and it's obvious how he feels. There is no reason to prove him wrong, just let him be. Whether 33% is a good or bad rate thats what it is and if you don't like it don't play. That's towards anyone who is complaining, not just singling you out Girgs.
I don't think people are looking at the big picture. Aren't you actually trying to make this bigger so more people and more money come in? I mean yeah, you only expect 8 or so teams now, but once word spreads around people should be flocking in here and having more payouts? At least that's how I see it for the time.
Well, I think we all trust that Nuge isn't a massive enough scumbag to scam us out of our remaining $6.67.
