7 min a quarter is too long.

Why not just drop this for now and let more people get games in, as not everyone has had a chance to play any online game yet. I'm not in the league, but still I think it's kind of silly to be arguing about this already when only a select few have actually played online ;)

Agreed, and they do slow down the game a bit, but they only occur occasionally. The 25 sec clock is on every down!!!

Nothing will be decided today, one way or the other. Everyones opinion is appreciated and is under consideration, but no reason to get all worked up about it.

because as someone with children and who signed up for this expecting to only have to dedicate no more than a hour i feel strongly about this. not to mention the football enthusiast in me would rather not see 90 to 74 games.

i play 6 minute quarters in dynasty..

But i think there might be some truth to the fact that 5 minute qtrs will probably be where we want to stay...

I like 6 minutes but 5 minutes of some of these guys whinning cause his receiver wont catch a pass might be all i want..lol

I dont say that because it might happen.. I say that because it has happened in other games.... not to mention any names.. but it make the whole experience bad..

So.. I would vote for 5 right now.. but i need to play some games...lol See ya'll online...

So far in exb games the highest TEAM avergae for passing is 202 and the highest rushing average is 142.

You guys wanting 5 min quarters better start putting up some numbers :)

I would have to say that the five minute quarters are the way to go. Although I am saying this from a time investment perspective and not realism in stats. As of now most of the games coming in are low scoring with little offense. Not typical of your normal college game.

hey im not against it either way... I was just putting my 2 cents..lol

I can handle putting in an hour of game play... with no problem.. It's just one game...

1 hour out of 107 usable hours isnt that bad.. IF by some reason I get to the point where I could actually blow somebody out.. which is not likely... I dont want to hear any belly-ache'n ..lol (how's that for southern fried slang)... Making a game longer only causes more of this and that's one thing I dont want to have to endure... Nothing is worse than somebody getting mad over a video game.. lol

Im in the league no matter what... so.. Commish say the word and we'll play the games...

I would say those stats are very good considering the game has only been out since Monday. The stats will continue to get improve the more comfortable people get with the game's nuances.

Yeah, there wont be any word on this until possibly sometime early next week. There are lots of things to go over and discuss and more importantly test. Remember: Nothing is set in stone right now. I also have some things I have to do in the next day or two that is related to the league, but doesn't involve playing the game. I need to get this done so we can start on time.

Yeah I agree with you there. The stats will get better as people start to play more and get a feel for the game. I think when it comes time to decide, those two stats should be looked into as they are good raw data.

Man, I don't know about everyone else, but the 25 second play clock goes FAST!!!! In the NFL, you get 40 and milking the clock can go on by cheesers, however, in this game, I don't see it being an issue. I'm sure i'll get faster the more I play, but I barely have time to get the ball off and have my share of delay of game penalties. When you look at checking out the matchup stick and calling an audible if needed, you are in a SERIOUS time crunch. Because of the 25 second play clock in college, no matter what the times for games are, you will get off more plays in this game than the pro games.

I think that 5 min quarters are pretty decent, some games are very defensive and others very offensive. Mine have all seemed to fluctuate. I would say do 6 at most, because with the time stopping for every first, incomplete pass, and out of bounds play, you should have more than enuf time to get those stats up a little closer to the norm on a regular basis.

I think the reason that 5 mins may seem long to me right now is because I am frustrated most of the time with just having to reteach myself how to play the game on EA's platform instead of the high offense run and gun of Sega.

All in all, I think that I should be fine either way we go on this issue.
