    Oh comon guys.. be patient..

I got a new game and my wife brings friends over then she wanted to play Mario kart..lol.. So i waited and waited... And about 9 i was finally able to play NCAA.. only to have to wait on those servers everybody was talking about. But once i was fully on.. I havent had trouble... but i should have read the book first because accountblocked was challenging me and i thought I was having connection problems.. I kept seeing this circle with a red lightning bolt..lol.. So sorry accountblocked.. I didnt accept till after you were in another game..

but Just be patient guys. It'll all come together...

My last 2 games of the night against Marauders and All MiT Kev were butter smooth. No lag, or "slowdown", just perfect. Felt like offline games actually. Very pleased. Obviously, the cranked up the server bandwidth pipe or whatever it is throughout the day because things got much better as the evening progressed. My games earlier with Linksys and Accountblocked had that slowdown effect and drop in framerate. Not sure if that was just straight lag or server problems though.

on the official xbox forums and on OS there were posts that indicated that changing the camera from NCAA to classic reduces the slowdown effect. like you said our game was flawless but just a thing to possibly experiment with in the future

They were saying it was everything from the camera view, to what kind of cables you use, to 480p or 480i problems, to widescreen enabled issues, etc etc.

Basically, it was just plain lag and overloaded/unprepared servers IMO. Early in the day it was mush, later in the evening it was smooth. I didn't change any settings (480p, widescreen, component cables, classic camera) the whole day and experienced both slowplay and perfect play.

It's unacceptable, EA makes this big deal on how EA is comign to Xbox, having their own servers and blah, blah and now they don't even freaking work. Boy does EA look stupid. Damn money grubbing EA...

What's really sad is this. We all know that MS has had problems with some of their stuff in the past. i.e. XSN, etc. But MS has always allowed us to connect to the server and play games. MS went down to do maintanence a couple of times, but they gave us a heads up and let us know in advance that the service would be unavailable for upgrades, etc.

It does make EA look kinda bad. From what I understand, it took EA 1 week to get it together with last years game for the PS2. Hopefully, it won't take them that long. I wonder how many people they have working around the clock to make sure things are working properly and fixing things that aren't?

No, you don't understand. This is EA Sports coming on Xbox Live for the first time. And also, for the record, this is not a Microsoft issue, but yet a EA issue. To my understanding, EA rents the servers from M$ and runs them themselves.

Halo 2 will not have any issues, this I can assure you. It's the biggest game launching this fall and M$ WILL NOT BE LIKE EA and mess up. I can't believe I am saying this, but Microsoft cares more about customers then EA.

The whole reason why it took so long in the first place is so EA could reserve the right I believe to charge for using EA online...AND Xbox Live as well.

They couldn't take the time to make sure that when the game was released, the online would work properly! There is no excuses here people, EA is suppose to be this great company and has great services, well I'll tell you what. I haven't seen much service. All they care about is our damn money. It's sad but true.

And yes, I do think Live will run properly when Halo 2 comes out. Unfortunately unlike EA, M$ has semi-intelligent people running their companies and services...

When I MANAGED to get on, I checked the online lobby and only 77 people were on...less then 100. If this game can't support less then 100 people online, that's a joke.

well hey if you assure me halo 2 is gonna work fine then all is right in the world  what is happening to ea has happened to MS in the past. did they stumble onto live yes is it damn annoying yes. but the amount of people gettin on to halo will probably dwarf this so the same could very well happen

No, it won't. They will not allow that and cannot afford it...we were ready for next millenium, they'll be ready for Halo 2...:)
